so ! new stuff is around the corner....planet abilities/events !!!

planet event ideas :
solar eclipse : your planet has aligned with it's star in an eclipse ! +10% research for 1 day
meteor shower : your planet is bombarded with meteors ! +25% minerals for a day, damage 1 random structure on planet and -10% population
frieghter crash : an interstellar frieghter crashes on your planet ! gather all the cargo ! +10% artifacts for a day
interstellar conjunction : your planet lines up with all the other planets in the system , as well as it's star ! boosts all resources by 50% for a day
starship crash : an alien starship crashes on your planet ! investigate the crash site and see what you can discover ! a free artifact that has value of 20gp or more, 10000rp, or 10000 minerals, or a special ship module

planet ability ideas :

brick : adds +25% def to the planet or ship, usable once per day, lasts 4 hours
tank : adds +25% att to ship or planet , usable once per day , lasts 4 hours
shadow : adds +25% cloak to ship or planet, usable once per day, lasts 4 hours
clone installation : adds +10 population to all your planets, usable once a day, lasts 4 hours


these are all off the top of my head without really thinking about it...anyone have more ideas ?

Your Ideas are okay. The greatest flaw though is with the Ability, "Shadow", only 4 ours of the day seems a pretty small window of use for an ability that is supposed to keep your planet hidden. It just seems that "Shadow" is really week compared to the rest of the other abilities, which would obviously be activated in case of Invasion. Cloak is useless unless the person just happens to can in the small window of 4 hours.

Honestly, before I saw the new things come out for planet abilities/events, I made some from the top of my head. These happen randomly at any given time, just not when one is in effect.

Planetary Weather/Events:

For Terra Planets:
Flood - Floods the entire planet, disguises the Terra as an Oceanic for 12 hours.
Erosion - Erodes rocks, dirt, etc, increases mining by 1 for 12 hours.
War - War begins, increases attack and defense by 10% for 12 hours.
Archaeological Discovery - Discoveries of many artifacts, increases artifact by 1 for 12 hours.
Baby Boom - Population rapidly increases, increases population by 25% for 12 hours.
Depression - Depression starts, all production on planet is reduced by 10% for 12 hours.
Catastrophic Weather - Severe weather spreads, increases attack by 25% but lowers population by 10% for 12 hours.

For Barren Planets:
Meteor Storm - Asteroids bombard the surface, increases mining by 1 for 12 hours.
Atmospheric Storm - A storm brews in the thin atmosphere, increases defense by 10% for 12 hours.
Volcanic Boom -Starts volcanic activity, disguises the barren as a volcanic for 12 hours.

For Icy Planets:
Sub-Zero Winds - Temps near absolute zero blows, increases research by 1 for 12 hours.

I can think of more for different planets, but now is not the time.
