To add even more variety to the Badge market, I propose that new items be introduced that require more than just one type of badge. Here are a few of my ideas: (please note that the actual badge costs are just ideas)
An artifact that allows you to have a second chance at a base raid (should you fail). The item would require 5 yellow and 5 silver badges.
An artifact that functions similar to the Mutagenic Cartridges, basically giving a bonus to invasions for a short time. The item would require 25 red and 2 green badges.
An artifact that resets your offensive action counts for that 24 hour period (but not your action counts that can be used against you), basically allowing for more use of TM's. This artifact would cost 10 red, 10 yellow, and 10 blue badges.
An artifact that would spawn a random rare or higher NPC - Cost 5 Red and 25 Dark Badges.
An artifact that reduces the AP of a base your legion has locked by 1 (not a permanent debuff). Requires 5 blue and 5 silver badges.
An artifact that can be used once a day that reduces all timers (daily reward, invasion, share) by 1 or 2 hours or so. Sort of a mini-Paradox type artifact. Requires 1 of each badge.
An artifact that allows you to target a specific legion's base. Cost is 5 red and 1 silver for each level that base is. (a level 5 would require 25 reds and 5 silvers to lock). Should probably have a limit to how often a legion can have a member use this (once or twice a week maybe).
That is all I had so far. Feedback would be appreciated.

2nd base raid attempt is awesome, and the rare NPC i love. Some great ideas there.

PaulFrick-i have suggested a new badge type the light badge,have a look in my thread,and have already thought of the second base raid as a reward. viewtopic.php?f=6&t=15498And i like the thought of using 2,3 or all badges to get a reward[meaning better rewards,like the NPC  ]. +1

Day because A legion COULD lock a base to say use the artifact 10 times and then let it sit there until the 8 hours are over and then relock it with the one that allows you to target a specific Legion Base and then use the -1 AP artifact 10 more times?

how about a new mod "RFID scanner: size 15 scan 50 alters odds of crates -10% common +6% uncommon +4% rare limit 3" costing say 30 yellow blue and silver

What about a 'rainbow' artifact?
+5 of each badge
-Gives 12 hour bonus to ALL raiding (players / bases / planet invasion)
