Maybe in a future update there could be asteroid fields, nebulae, debris fields(Very hazardous, but small areas), abandoned space stations and stars that can act as "planets" Just a couple of thoughts, and if it gets a positive response, I'll put in more details

U know your scanning for a planet and u come across an abandoned space station and it would carry some goodies like rare artifatcs or something,but to get them u would have to disable it,it would have an automatic turret system where any ship it came across it would attack. I mean this is galaxy legion there isn't just planets in the universe there are comets and such black holes,it would make sense to add some of these,so when your scanning you don't just find planets u can find other things that u would find in a galaxy.

More on the Abandoned Base Idea, it wouldn't always have a functioning turrent system, but maybe a cloaking system/shield system that goes on and off, and that you have to be careful with getting the spoils, else the station's reactor going critical, or that all the defense systems turn on when you activate the power core, which would cause an internal defense system to target, and trap your crew

let's see, how's this sound: asteroid field: common, medium chance of taking damage when found, if not disabled due to the damage, then medium chance of earning some MP
debris field: uncommon , high chance of taking heavy damage when found, if not disabled due to the damage, then medium chance of earning some AP or artifact
station: rare, adds a "station" to BT when found. Station serve as a new kind of NPC, can be disabled, hacked, raided. Station expires in 24 hours, it CAN be hacked/raided multiple times, however each successful raid/hack lowers the chance of future success raid/hack AND diminish the rewards. (the first hack/raid should yield a lot to make 2nds etc possibly worthwhile)
abandoned station: uncommon, spawn 1 abonded station on BT abandoned station can be hacked or raided. raid will work same way as a disabled "station". Hack will require turning on the station power system and hence possibly turn its defence on(into a weaker version of "station"). It's also possible that the system is too beat up and explode and result in the lose of 1 engineer(at the time of hack) and removal of it from BT. Also stays in BT for 24 hours
comet: rare, extremely low chance to take extremely high damage upon finding, if not disabled after finding, gain RP and MP
UFO: extremely rare, give option to "approach" the UFO upon finding. If select no, nothing happens and it's gone. If select yes, big chance of earning RP point, small chance of being disabled, very small chance that some of your ship module breaks, extremely small chance all your module breaks.

i love it but you have to have ship mod goodies and coordinates of planets (random planets) also, the ufo??? wouldnt that be in the BT under NPC? all in all the idea is very nice.
oh, side note, what do you think about Quantum anomilies, (only paralelle universe junk) such as a duplicate of your ship appears and attacks you.

Asteroid Fields aren't that dangerous, but we can go with Asteroid Convergences, which is an asteroid field that is starting to form a planet Debris fields will sometimes be irradiated, which will either damage your ship, damage your modules, kill crewmembers, any combination of the last three, or give you a slight boost to your recarge rates Abandoned Stations will sometimes be in an irradiated zone, or could become envelped in an irradieated zone due to combat nearby, lack of maintainence, or a mistake that occurs when you try to raid it

I'm liking this idea too. I've made some screenshots to go with abandoned bases but I don't know how good they are: (I did use a base picture, there were no good ones...)  The interface when scanning miscellaneous objects. (Just a copy and paste job, not perfect.)  The battle interference. The "Data" is the Research that you can get and "Materials" are MP, AP, CTP, EM, etc. *The time expiration I could not remove...It would last from 6 hours - 36 hours, depending on difficulty of the abandoned base.*  A custom message after successfully raiding. Thoughts?

Well, it's a base image unlocked when you get your base to level 2. If I were to put an NPC base on there, it would just blend in with the other NPC elites and bosses.

suggestion: add some holes and smoke coming from the base... it's abandoned, right? let it be run down and venting and rusting...

besides repost? no. not really. its a decent idea. but i dont really know how this is going to fit in with planetary scans (since you said you HAD to scan them) it would make more sense to find them when scanning for bases. instead of finding a players base, you find a derelict one. but again, this has all been asked for before. now we just play the waiting game.

not sure about an abandoned base being smoking and venting, but a quick skim over it in photoshop to "turn all its lights off" and maybe darken it a little would work wonders. A smoking, venting and damaged station sounds like another encounter on scan all together - A derelict
I love the way this coming together I would also suggest that the game keeps a log of old legion bases that are abandoned so that they can be scanned, attacked, disabled and salvaged for ctp, RP, MP and AP
