How about a reputation poll on people's profiles. Different catagories so people know what the person is best known for. For example a rating for their trading so people know if they are an honest trader or a scam artist.
To prevent misuse there would also have to be a reason for why you vote negative, that way people can't just ruin someone's reputation because they don't like them.

Possible catagories: Trader, Artist, Suggestionist, Helper, Strategist, Writer, Humor
Each one would have a +1/-1 system.

This would help people avoid scammers, find good banner makers, find the trolls, find someone for advice, etc.

categories i think i'd have would be

Trader, Tactician, Shipwright (builds a good ship), Comrade (helps his legion), Basebuilder (upgrades his legion base), Diplomat, Combatant, Artist, Writer, Tactician, Sportsmanship, Humour

I'd have it work two ways - people vote +1 or -1, and if their reputation goes "negative", they get a different name. eg:

Trader/scammer - trades
Emissary/Loner - Legion status/promotion
Strategist/Brawler - Advice
Joker/Bore - Humour
Sincere/Troll - legitimacy of posting

Also, you can nominate people for titles such as artist, writer, that sort of thing. Once you have X nominations, you get that "title".

Also have a post minimum before you can vote. To avoid trolls who make multi forum accounts just to down-vote people.
