Post subject: | base scan for planets |
well it seems to me that a space station occupied by 50 or so players would have an increased ability to scan for planets i think it would be cool if 5-10 players in a legion combined their efforts they could scan for really good planets so i have come up with a few ideas to get this rolling 1. have a button that 5-10 players could click for planet scans from the base , when the queue is full , the base automatically scans for a planet and alerts it to the players who clicked the scan button 2. have a module for the base that automatically scans for planets once or twice a day and alerts it to the legion either way, the leader could set the parameters of the search , such as size, richness, occupied/unoccupied, etc also the availability of said planet scan would only last until the next base planet scan not a really strong idea , needs fleshing out more, but what do you guys think ? |

make a new type of "scan" module that takes up special space, the module can be unlocked as the scan tech of the builder gets higher players may activate the scanner by using AP from the base, each time returning planet or a number of planets(as if 20 scans are ran per activation) and deposit them into legion planet legion base that any member can look into. The chance of scan decreases as the number of planet in the data base increase(just like regular player scans). The data base can be completely purged by using 100 star-chart purger and 500 CTP at anytime. |

-1. Planetary discovery should stay as it is, and thats via individual ships. A Base simply doesn't have the technology to be able to scan for planets not already found by the legions ships, because bases don't move through space, they just stay where they are and wait for manned starship vessels to report back on previously undiscovered worlds. |

What Dan should do is let us build a base module that takes up special space, and allows us to upload planets for an energy cost, maybe 25 energy per planet. This module can be discovered in the CT-Lab. When a planet is attacked, only the person who owns it will notice it and they must still alert people to help them defend it. We also need a new planet type(i.e. owned, unoccupied, enemy). It should be an NAP type. Any planet in your database can be uploaded permanently to the base. |

What would "uploading" into the base do, precisely? |

perma share? and possibly for planet trade(if uploads are not cleared by leaving legion)? Dan would probably just NO the latter so... perma share? |

if the planet is on the base's database, would it generate resources from those planets ? hmmm.... |

No it won't share any resources, it's just an idea where you can go in, see some friendly planets, some unfriendly, go in and colonize an unoccupied. If this was in the real world, don't you think legions would do something like this. I should add that when you upload a planet, the name turns green. And yes it would be a perma share. |

actually a perma share in a legion base would be benificial for those trading in planets but given dan made the time increase to 1 week from jioning a legion to being able to alert then i wonder if he would want something that again makes it easier and cheaper to trade planets |
