Post subject:  Planet trading/shareing

It is already set up for other devices, so I think I would be pretty easy to code in. Being able to share a planet to a facebook friend, similar to the way we send minerals and artifacts. This would make it a lot easier for people that are buying/selling planets so that they would not have to go legion hopping. I think it should still trip the share timer so there is a lower chance of this being abused. This would also clear up some legion comm chatter that seems to annoy a lot of the player base. ( although personally I like seeing the stuff but that is prob because I'm still fairly new ) What does everyone else think of this idea?

Dan has made alterations to the game specifically to cut down on planet selling, such as the 7 day wait before alerting an enemy owned planet. I really don't see this idea having a snowball's chance of getting put into the game.

there is a chance if:
1. you can't share your own occupied planet
2. the share have some sorta cost (KU, EM or CTP probably)
3. the planet is not recently scannd, namely have to be scanned for at least 10 days

Thing is, although dan put a 7 day limit etc to cut down planet trade/sell, he won't be able to stop the trading/selling of really great planet that doesn't get a regular dose of flux.
with above condtions put in, #2 will discourage sale of all except the best planet while #3 will prevent sale of the regular fluxed crowd, it doesn't really change anything(in term of in game balance) except make it easier.

I don't really see it happening in any way or form, but at least with those 3 rules it would have a little bit of chance while OP had none

Oh I didn't know he was trying to cut down on planet selling... Well it does make more since some of the things that are in effect then.

maybe only able to share unoccupied planets
and I do like the idea of a cost... maybe something as simple as even energy
the limit on the time since scanned could be another method to keep it from being abused

However, with OP's comment about dan not likeing the planet trading idea, I do not see this as a viable suggestion for realistic implementation. Guess it will prob just end up on my personal wish list :D

It doesn't stop anyone making a multi,or someone who already has one to just share to the mutli. It can easily be abused.

sorry thought op was other poster... lol like I said I'm new... as for the multi, that is already against the rules so not really sure how that would make a big difference... breaking one rule or many rules it is still the same, right?

well, they can't really catch multis effectively except by player reports pretty much so~~~
still have to make the game so that it's hard to gain from multi just in case

well... ip and coinciding login checks could be automatic and dropped into a separate logfile, but Dan would still need to distinguish family/roommates from real multis
