How about a rare artifact / mission reward for rebooting your planet list. Clears all planets off your list except the ones you own. It can include a penalty involving scan (-99% for 2 weeks) - to avoid over abuse.

It is too powerful. Another downside: what about planets that a player still wants to take?

Call it a super purger of sorts, GP only...maybe 50, with a limit on total # you can purchase...

...And that would be part of the downside (losing planets you want to take)

Or planets that players would eventually make into rarer planets, like a gaia that magically appeared on my radar.
I think it'd be better if it got rid of all unoccupied planets

how about if it cost 750 energy and 750 exotic matter for each planet it purges??!!

Not if there was a purge limit like say 50 (or even 100 just giving an example tho) and a check box. What u would do is select the one u want to purge then click the check box then use the artifact and there u go 50 gone. And the limit use for the artifact is 1 week so it's not gonna get abused.

All or nothing purge. Got to have a serious downside to it, or everybody would use it all the time

I suggested 1 week til the next can be used that is the downside.

1 weeks not much, how about a month?

That's also a week of crappy hacking, and if you NPC, a week with no possibility to see a TO troop carrier or a blade harvester

it might be better as a missions art so there is a limit to the number that a player can get.
say 3 arts max.

250 energy 2500 em 25ctp each round
100 - 150 rounds in the mission
min level 225

timer on art 30 days

That penalty would mean that for 2 weeks you couldn't scan for any new planets whatsoever.

Which would result in someone getting one of your planets on their scan, rather than a nasty sparse planet if they got a critical hack or a reverse critical hack.

Your NPC capabilities would be limited slightly as scan would be limited to under 450.

Ha it's no downside, I have all the planets I want on scans already, and I only scan like once a month, but a large scan like 300+ purgers.
