This came up as a discussion point in my own legion and thought I'd offer it as a suggestion.

I'd imagine it would be a fairly simple piece of code to allow planet locations to be shared with individual players
as opposed to notifying entire legions, formatted the same way you share an item and same expiration as a legion share;

it would allow existing players an opportunity to help friends get a good start on the game;

And it would make it easier for individual legion's officers to offer planet locations as a bonus or incentive for Legion
participation, contests, or as other membership incentives.

just a thought.

Not to mention it could help prevent intra-legion planet-jacking. +1

there is a reason why planet sharing takes loyalty--so that planet trading can be minimalized

So this is sooooo not happening.

yea multi abuse is probably why this wont happen, as a legion everyone sees the planet and if its one thts *to* good to pass up they know.

And then you get a small fight in the legion someone gets booted and has the little gem of a planet took from them or theres some moron who doesnt read the part that says its for someone so on and so forth
i say +1 but only can be shared with legion members

I agree with only within the legion, but wouldn't that mean you are using the legion only?

For the little brother, make sure he is in front, alert, and tell your little brother 2 fermtoseconds later (+ lag ) to click on the planet and colonize it....I'm sure your legion friends are trustworthy enough and if they do steal it, they are untrustworthy and kick them and take the planet back.

i really can't see multi-abuse as a reason against here...

after all, many multis already have a legion of their own, do they not?

while i'm thinking about it...

i agree unoccupied planets probably should have an option to alert only to a single player (there's no reason for an unocc to be visible to everyone... this would eliminate colony-stealing)

but it's good that occupied planets are alerted to everyone in the legion... that way people can help take down the planet

This is a good idea though I think perhaps it should be set up in such a way that you can change who sees it while the alert is still active that way if you need someone else's help you can add them and thus limit the chances of someone in a 50+ legion "accidentally" looking in their scanners and finding the planet then taking it at the wrong moment such as before you even get a chance to have a shot at it yourself. Also would be great for when someone wants to share a planet and give it to one person if it's already unoccupied. That way it ensures intent of the alert.
