I have an idea that might make recruiting new members easier.

For Recruiters:
Under the legion tab, there should be another tab for recruiting, open to leaders and officers only. When you click on this tab a list would appear of people who have recently joined galaxy legion. When they join GL they appear at the top of the list, as others join, they move down the list until they are either recruited or drop off the bottom of the list. Once they join a legion they would no longer appear on this list.
From this list, leaders and officers would be able to view players race, profession and stats and send "invites" to join their legion.
They would have the option to cancel this invitation at anytime and would be limited to sending only 5 invites per day per legion to prevent spam and give more legions an opportunity to send invites.

For recipients of invites:
under legion tab will be another tab to view all active invitations. Here they can view the legions rosters and stats and either accept or decline invitations. For people who have no intention of joining a legion can have the option to disable invites and they will not receive any invitations at all and they will not appear on the list. Once a player has joined a legion they will no longer have an invitation tab, if they are promoted to officer or leader of their new legion, they will then have the recruiting tab in its place, if they are just a member they will have no tab there at all.

I have seen other games that use systems of this type and I think it helps recruiting tremendously, especially for new legions that are just starting out. As it is now, you have to rely on the battle tab to recruit new members and find legions to join. when you search legions you get a seemingly endless list of legions containing only a few members, that is because recruiting is too difficult and these legions can only find a couple people to join.New people join these small, going nowhere legions because it is all they see, then when the legion becomes stagnant, people get bored and quit the game all together.I realize that there is a recruiting spot on this forum, but most new players do not make it here, they should but they dont.An actual in game recruiting system would be much more effective.

I'm not sure I'd like the idea of being spammed out of my living wits upon joining Galaxy Legion by people who do nothing typically but copy and paste gigantic fancy robotic recruitment messages. I agree though that there could possibly be a system where someone can selection an option (NOT selected by default) that they wish to be contacted for recruitment upon joining a legion this option/feature would disappear along with their name in such a list.

Viewing active invitations like "You recently applied for X Legion Option> Cancel request? Yes/No" would be cool; I still believe only one join request should be able to be sent.

Well, I stated above that invitations could be disabled if you do not want them.
Also each legion would have a limit to how many invites they could send.I said 5 but a smaller number would be fine with me.
However, maybe I should have been more clear that senders of invitations would not be able to write messages in their invitations, that all invitations would be the same. "legionX has sent you an invite to join their legion" accept/decline"...the recipient of the invitation could then click on legionX and view their rosters and stats and could read your legion description to get an idea of what the legion is all about.

Good idea on the no messages and simply read legion description. It's better to be real and let the recruitment sauce be sauce and obvious for being said recruitment sauce. Apologies if my reply overlooked some of your post.

Or perhaps the ability to actively sign up your legion for recruiting once a week, and it goes into a list of actively recruiting legions for a week? Most of the Newbies who start their own legions probably wouldn't even know about recruiting unless they came to the forum, or went on the wiki to find out about it. But those with a bit more experience could use the recruiting legion list, sortable by name/average rank/average attack/member count etc to find a legion they wish to join.

???
