it's a base, right.. a huge structure with weapons, defences, etc..
so why not have a cargo hold? a place where people can deposit unwanted artifacts for others to access..
obviously you'd need a cap, say 500K..
players can only deposit tradable artifacts, not terraformers or purifers etc..
just like the other mods on a base, you could control who has access etc, so everyone can deposit, but only officers can withdraw..
this would make artifacts alot more valuable.. so instead of scrapping the 150 defence probes you've got, stick them in the base cargo so some other legion mate can withdraw them to make the 'Spy Probe - Governance'.. of which you have no interest.. AND, while you're saving up for the 'Thermionic Intensifier' (demon), you only have to worry about saving the elevators because the storm charges and replusors are already in the base..
what do people think?

That is actually a great idea. Because I'm making a demon and a plasma world right now, and my cargo absolutely hates me.

This would be really helpful to smaller ranked ships who cannot hold their excess artifacts if they can store it in base it would make the lab more rounded vs aimed at higher ranked. +1 for this idea!

A legion with most to all the recipes in the ctl and a decent artifact production would pretty much cover your cargo problems. I researched the ctl early on around 160 and haven't had issues with cargo since. Even now I am "tight" on space with 1k of cargo free and that is still more than a lot of people under rank 200. Not to mention if you have a legion with a mid-high ranking player they will have plenty of space to help out. For example MasterAlucard wrote: That is actually a great idea. actually, the idea of base cargo opens another avenue into a universal trade hub
+infinity to base cargo
think of all the traps laying around your base that could be used for defense ?
+infinity to base cargo
think of all the time saved sending things to a new recruit when you could give them "newbie" level access, or have the level of access coincide with loyalty ?
+infinity to base cargo
think of being able to unequip base mods and have a place to store them !!!!!!
+infinity to base cargo !!!!

It's simple, but effective. I've ALWAYS had cargo issues.
+1 to this. Hope it goes far.

I love the idea of a cargo hold space is always an issue, but for a base it should never be.

A while ago, I had a more... complicated base cargo idea: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=13005&start=0&hilit=WarehouseAny sort of base cargo is good, but I'd say it'd need to have permissions and it'd need to take up special space.
