Instead of the profession icon somewhere, why not make each profession make each ship class look different.

I would love to be able to have extra things on our ships like that.

Actually, placing the profession icon somewhere in the ship details is a pretty good idea. Perhaps the phrase you suggest could be added to the ship settings page.

The settings page is a bit sparse, good place to put the interface for changing the "motto" or what have you. Not sure where to put the profession icon, but I think in the playerheader makes the most sense, or somewhere near it.

Yeah i know there are lots of races and professions, but it would make everyones ships more unique!, also no 1 uses crayons anymore, its called photoshop nowdays

No. That is pointless, and detracts from the original concept. Tha artwork for the profession icons has already been completed. All that needs to be done now is for them to be added to your ship tab. -1 to your additional suggestion, we're not trying to bury Dan in coding, just implement some improvements.

What your post is about is all ships looking the same and having nothing unique from race to race. im just saying make profession's alter the picture of the ship we see (no code in that just a hell of a lot of photoshop). As for the "profession icons" having them shown is the same as having your profession written down just in a picture.

I'm sorry, you are right. I said coding, when what I really meant was coding, plus possibly hundreds of man-hours spent reworking the ship designs to still be recognizable as their race, while also being distinct, and also recognizable as their profession. I tell you what, since your idea is really great and I do think, if it were implementable it would be a fun addition to the game, how bout you download a cracked copy of photoshop and get crackin on some examples of what you'd expect it to look like? You know, in the level of detail and quality we've come to expect in this game? Since it's no harder to craft up new ship designs to fit the above criteria and then implement the code for having 6+ different ship designs per race than it is to hotlink an image you already have into the game, I mean.

Colouring the ship images wouldn't be that difficult. It took me all of five seconds to recolour the Stryll Assassin in Irfanview, Armineus. If Dan wanted it done, he could do it. Ship customisation would be a very nice feature. I'd like to see my legion emblem on my ship page as well. It would be cool if we had the ability to create a legion-style personal logo to represent ourselves too.

i like the idea of a space to place a short note on the ship page for all to see. we could include home legion in it thus eliminating accidental disables of legion and alliance mates who happen to be out on trades or visiting. some form of color customizing would be nice even if we couldn't customize the shape, maybe even a set of selectable decals to place in certain spots on the ship, like the legion logos. since the pics are mostly a static image, wouldn't be too hard to add a modifier onto the end adding selected image X in decal area Y and Z.
