Post subject:  {mission} Omicron
Not sure of the history of this word but there are a few artifacts and missions, well known and lesser known, that are labeled as Omicron, which would indicate it as a race of Aliens or a faction but it isn't listed in wiki so I assume it hasn't been integrated into the game as a race.

My suggestion is that Omicron be integrated into the game as a enemy faction or playable race.

With the Omicron artifacts they would seem to be good at sabotage or making warfare ;)

A second saboteur race, but that can also be a Merchant or Inventor that produces a random artifact that comes from artifact shipments; for a few ideas on an Omicron playable race. :)

EDIT: Also, speaking of missions, there should be some race specific missions that unlock race specific artifacts and/or buildings.
Sillixx Starport and Human barracks have been there for a while, how about some love for the other races? o.O I liked the idea of race specific items but I don't plan on being Human or Sillixx. Making missions that explore a race's background more which would in the end unlock a race specific artifact or artifacts. The unlockable races have some background info, explored during their mission chains. :)

And no I have no idea for what could be done 8-)

omicron is a greek letter....
and refers to a specific type of sub-atomic particle in this game
likewise, thetacrons (root word theta is also a greek leter) are also a specific particle in this game with more power than an omicron

Omicron is also used as science fiction radiation (Omicron Radiation) and is generally used as the designation of the 13th star in a constellation such as Omicron Ceti

Ignoring the specifics of the suggestion, I would however +1 the INTENTION of the suggestion, i.e. introduction of a new race and race mission chain - would be a great way to start the new year off.

Did you notice there's a mission chain just started? Who knows what Dan has up his sleeve....

i'm HOPING he isnt making ANOTHER new race. unless its 15% to all production and an ability that allows us to increase the size and resource value of planets, ie infinite quasispacial expanders and terraformers for free, i'm going to be severely disappointed. What i would like is a new npc race. The silthion chain (if you can call it that) is the only mission chain that awards a new npc race to battle, and its only two npcs. granted, one of which are queens which are beyond wonderful, but i'd like to see some higher tier npcs able to be unlocked. Because this is an entry level mission, i doubt my wishes will happen, and for all we know this mission chain unlocks the trading hub, but at some point in the future i'd like to see more of those unlockable npc chains come about.

i'd like to see the Octafari, Stryll, and Shadin become playable races.... heck, Dan already has the avatars made.....

at the very least if they aren't gonna be playable races, he should make Maude and Baci use the octafari and shadin avatars for their forum avatar..... lol

I wasn't saying he wasn't doing that o.o, I'm just saying it's a nice idea. If the new chain is a new race chain, Kudos to him! (well, kudos anyway, but more ;))

There was nothing in what you said which explained why you would be against a new race...other than greed.

i was hoping that i laid the sarcasm on thick enough that people would understand my displeasure with the continual repetition of unlockable races through the biweekly mission chains. What i was attempting to say was unless the race is so outlandishly overpowered that it lorded above all other races currently and potentially ever being implemented in the game, i would be very disappointed to see another one unlocked. we already have so many, and i would like to see a break in the chain... with zolazin it was like, yay! a new race! with genetaar it was like, oh, another race? well thats cool... with mylarai it was like, oh, again? well, i guess they needed something to balance out taltherian... with kronyn it was like, first mission research based? i know where this is going... with xecti it was like, oh god... please no... please let these be npcs to fight... now, well, i hope this unlocks something OTHER than a race. we have too many now. as i stated, i think it might unlock access to the trading hub as this is a biweekly thus its available to all players. but again, i'd love to see new npcs above all else. even new planets would be nice to have. but please, not another race. its like the shaymalan films. they started out amazing. but as time went on... not only do you learn to anticipate the plot twist (the end result being a race) but they get progressively worse as time goes on.

(The 6th Sense) Zolazin have saboteur ability- amazing.
(Signs) Genetaar can sabotage npcs- pretty good...
(The Happening) Mylarai can improve mining- eh... i guess its ok for people that dont npc or find toxics...
(Devil) Kronyn can improve research- wow... saw that coming from a mile away. guess its something for the ct lab...
(Lady in the Water) Xecti have governor- you mean i can get 3x the research on my icy planet? 10% production on my barren? and this happens THREE TIMES MORE OFTEN?! think of the powah!!

hopefully at some point we'll get a mission to allow us to unlock asteroids and stuff... the kalvium asteroids were cool. wouldnt mind seeing more stuff like that floating about to get some bonuses off of.
