A different way of applying legion strength score

So as of right now, the strength score multiplies based on buffing and debuffing of ships in your legion and varies based on that. Now as part of a way to create a legion war option in game, I thought of something interesting to throw into the strength score counter. When a legion ship is disabled he in essence becomes useless till repaired again. I propose an idea that when a ship is disabled his ship strength contribution value is subtracted from the legion total strength score till he is repaired. Strength score already fluctuates during the day based on players buffing and losing buffs so this should not add too much of a strain to the system. Now for legion vs legion wars this will be a nice view (granted it will only be useful for the top 50) of who has more people standing based on strength score. So there would not be any dispute as who is disabling who more. It will be factual based on your legion's score. Also this will add a new twist to pvp because it will make people want to stonewall their ships to try and stay alive or not stay dead for too long. By sitting dead for the 2 day period the legion loses the strength score and it will basically show which side gave up. What do you all think? Was something that popped into my head driving home from work today.

Not bad idea. I know once someone goes inactive their stats drop off legion strength so I wouldnt say it would be hard to make disabled ships strength change. Only thing I question is what if they are disabled off a base or npc? Its not a pvp related action. Would just the disable be the factor or how u were disabled? It cant just be a pvp when there is other means to being disabled even some missions will cause damage.

true, since I envision this to be a promotion for pvp wars, then it would have to be a pvp specific disable + standard inactivity. That way people who dont care about it dont lose anything over being killed by an npc (though if you are NPC hunting more than likely you will be down at most for a repair timer if you are low on nanos). but then again with the current self disable options, many people might bypass this by self disabling and not losing the score which also helps the fight against self disabling :D.

but what do you REALLY lose from losing strength in the legion?
Well... I guess it could affect the legion ranking A LITTLE, but that's true for all legions and relatively insignificant...
It's especially trivial if the player isn't purposely self-disabling as the low number of likely cases.

so I think the likelyhood of impact from self-disable abuse is bigger than concern of the real issue, therefore no difference should be made.

I like this idea. This stops ppl from self disabling
