Basically of all planets you see, kinda like the blockade, you park your ship in orbit and siphon off resources of owner player. The limitation will follow. Values would be, say, 10% of planet primary (highest) output per hour after parked up for 10 minutes Same value is Siphoned for every 10 minutes thereafter (upto 60% hourly resource siphoned) The kick is as soon as someone sees a player doing this they can activate a "Dispersal field" from the planet, knocking Siphoner away from his planet Siphoning, this incurs a large portion of damage and a chance for the owner thats being Siphoned from, gaining a varying chance (20-80%) of the losses back, and in critical instance hits, his value back and that again (200%) from Siphoners stocks supply. Obvious clues is Siphoning while others are offline. To combat abuse of planet takeovers sensing others are offline, a active player can run a "silent ping" on Siphoner while they are pulling off resources, this adds x2.5 value of whatever Siphoner is taking on a clock and when the owner decides, he activates the dispersal field, kicks the Siphoner and gains his x2.5 resources off him. This way Siphoner doesnt know if player is offline or playing him (clock can only be run by active player, logging off will disable timer/ if Siphoner leaves before activation no chance to get stuff back) Siphoner will prob run very small amounts for little/no damage or goto sleep siphoning and hoping the gain back wont be to painful when planet owner comes online. Ideas? |

provide a GOOD reason to not siphon If you can't and everyone end up doing it, it's way too much |

LiquidXavius wrote: Risk of trace ping on you and lose your reserves as person youre siphoning off gets more than you took similiar logic as the "maybe more" part.... would require players to have a reserve to use siphon LiquidXavius wrote: But in the same way as i was mentioning, siphoning could be the new hack in the way that the amounts taken help the taker, but others really dont care half the time, its like being assaulted by a fly, a inconvenience yes, to a lot of people its not worth the time to investigate. If it was on a more "normal" planet, yeah it would be pretty much like hacking But if it is on some of the uber ones.... just so u know... 60% of ONE type of prodctution can be 1000+ production per hour..... On another note, u can't hack inactives(because they won't show on BT once they are disabled and they would obivously not be on alerts) but u can "safe" siphon inactive's planets... tha feels wrong to me. Yet if the siphon system in anyway checks the activity status of the target planet's owner, it would be err.. wrong... because you are not supposed to know unless u use that special probe thing. So you need to think up a solution to this. |

If you want production from planets then get some god dang planets. This blockade idea started about 5 of these threads and they are a waste of space. |
