I was thinking, badges encourage us to do certain actions against other enemy ships (well, at least the majority of them do). So, I thought up a few re-usable badge items that may be of interest to everyone!
Infantry - Cost, 20 red badges Stats: Activate on your base to increase your base's attack by .5% for 4 hours. Stacks up to six times (for a total of a 3% increase).
Defense Personnel - Cost, 20 Yellow badges Stats: Activate on your base to increase your base's defense by .2% for 4 hours. Stacks up to six times (for a total of a 1.2% increase).
Quasi-Spatial Rift Grid - Cost, 20 Blue Badges Stats: Activate on your base to slightly decrease the chance of your base being scanned for 4 hours. (Does not stack).
Boarding Party/ Docking Port Defense (didn't know which name I liked better) - Cost, 40 Green badges Slightly decreases the chance of a successful raid on your base by enemy ships for 2 hours. (Does not stack).
What do you all think?

Wait...what does someone gain by lower success rate of raids on their base? Thought that raids on bases generated *Free* stuff and don't cost the base anything...

items which don't give a benefit and exist only to piss off other players are just flame war materials...you really see the need for more of those then we already have?

well, CM still works even if the player who used it does not even try to disable or hack the target....
Anyway, if you make a habit of using that thingy, maybe ppl will write down ur base as a "bad target to hit" and will stop hitting it... ofc, for ppl who are illogical and get angered by stuff like this... they might target ur base more~

They don't, but the idea behind these items is that they are not permanent, meaning that players need to actively attain more badges to use them. This is, more than anything, to continue to encourage PvP. I tried to make sure that the items were not overpowered and, in case you didn't realise, that is also the hardest and most expensive item to get, I very much doubt a lot of players would be able to go for it. It took me long enough to get the atmospheric decimators, and this item is not permanant and a heap more expensive.

Again, ridiculously expensive and, if anything, can give the smaller legions whose bases are farmed on a continual basis a little bit of satisfaction knowing that they decreased the likelyhood of a successful raid by the farmers.

I was more suggesting that the item is of no beneficial value. I like the "more badge items" idea just fine. I merely feel that there should be some other item for greens, as this one can only cause trouble. And honestly...40 greens for an item that helps noone is abit over the top.

Feel free to suggest then, this IS an open forum.

change it to chance to intercept the raiders and give the crate to a random member of ur legion instead
given small enough chance it won't be broken and it provides beneficial value and it gives most of the ppl living in 4s and 5s (who likely can't disable fellow 4s and 5s) a chance to get the raid only items

"U have intercepted a base crate from an enemy ship", "U recieve 1 large base crate". Lol that would be cool.

Lol yeah. But that won't happen anytime soon. The Dom *cough* Honeybadgers tried and failed, so i don't see any other legion doing it.

+1 to the docking port defense. Not sure if it should cost 40 greenies, though
