 rank rewards... wondering why they arent part of the game

as the title says, I'm wondering why there aren't some sort of rewards that get unlocked at X rank, as you progress... sort of mile markers.. and yes i know there are already mission tier rewards but all of those are woefully underpowered by far as you get over 1/2 way thru them.

every other game I've played, rewards your continued playing/ranking, by giving you GL points (equivalent).. no one would surely argue that a GL point or even 2, every 5 or 10 ranks, would make anyone over powerful.
And for once, I am in the crowd who IS spending money on the game regularly... this being the ONLY game to get that extra attention... so its not just someone looking for handouts, but just a little nod towards being loyal.
And dont say the daily reward gives out GL points... ive gotten a massive EIGHT from that in the year ive played. Also it doesnt NEED to be GL points.... it could be, at rank 50, you get a great special weapon, at rank 100 you get a great defence module, at 150, an amazing scanner... etc... feel free to add any suggestions to this

yeah im liking this idea too would be a real incentive to rank although it may make slow rankers redundant which would be good for everyone else but not them :D

I also like this. The only incentive we get is the income boosts at 85 and 160, which according to the developers "don't exist" anyway. The only problem I foresee with this is getting the rewards to people who have already surpassed that specific rank.

yes this would be so cool. wouldn't mind getting a GL pt every few ranks since I don't have any anymore -_-

it shouldnt be too hard to retroactively give everyone some GL points... it would be a one time equation of (rank divided by X, = Y gl points)

same thing for any other rewards that would be rank related, if rank equals X, then you receive x1,x2,x3.... rewards... as applicable.

if you think about it, you get TWO GL points every 5 levels, Hell, even if you got ONE every level, were talking atleast 80 ranks worth of points for everyones first purchases, which SHOULD be F.A.T.H.E.R.S. even if you don't get those, thats ALMOST two planet fluxs, sure they arent cheap, do you want to steal that planet though... is it worth it?? so it certainly wouldnt be an imbalance, even for the high rankers, who have undoubtedly already spent a lot of money.

also, i would imagine that since MOST people are ranking at a speed close to mine... it would only mean ABOUT 260 GL points per year... IF it was one per rank, if it was 1 per every 5 ranks, it would be 52... all in all, i think it would be good.

And if it was only modules that we got, then that would be cool too.
That way it would be fair to EVERYONE, whether you do PVP/missions/npc... you rank up, you get a reward... as it stands now, you do missions, you get pretty much crap rewards the entire way as far as tier rewards go.. better then PvP/npc rewards though since those folks only get bragging rights if they're good enough at it.. as for npcs, there are only npc drops as rewards, and i dont need to do every one of them to get rewards do I...

every 5 ranks MAYBE get 1 gp

probably better if it's done every time you get a gold bar for rank , with better rewards for better gold ranks

Just gunna put this out there, but if your a higher rank you have unlocked more missions, and its about every 5ish ranks you get a new mission, that is kind of a rank reward. It was also an incentive for me to find out what the next mission was. lol.

Dan dislikes autoranking and ppl who autorank, at least that's the impression I got so far.
This will reward autorankers more than "others"

So I highly doubt this...

yes but autoranking doesnt give anyone any extra power per se... your not any stronger just because your rank 1000... not if all you've done is spend your rank points on engineers and a couple decks... sure they'd get the rank rewards, but that doesnt make them invincible, quite the opposite, they've got next to zero attack/defence/space, and are at EVERYONES mercy... so what if they have a few extra toys... which anyone else who ranked 'normally' have also acquired...

u r talking about the "wrong" type of auto ranker....
proper auto ranking, starting at earliest rank 400+, can be very good for a player, very little down side and lots of +

yes... lets make a multi just to get a free storage structure... and then wait a month and reset just to get another one... thats like saying why make planets tradeable? or artifacts tradeable? multis will just exploit em! or why make an ability to alert players? theyll just make bait multis to get easy kills! or why make this a community game at all, just to risk it? honestly, if players really want to go that far for something, they will. it dosnt matter what it is or how difficult it is to get it, theyll go after it just because some people exploit games for what they are. and that wont ever change. If gp is introduced into the leveling system as a reward, then perhaps some people will become hooked instead of just writing off this game as another offer to get free farmville credits. i know when i first started playing, i was hoping to get some gp for leveling because then i could work on buying terraformers for my exotic... but after level 100 passed, i realized there were no such rewards, and i thought that absolutely sucked and was a major oversight on the developers part. but, hopefully this will get implemented. it will definitely keep beginners hooked. i know thats why i played vampire wars for as long as i did. it didnt have anything particularly special about it, and the reason i joined was cause i had 20 friends that played it so i got to be in a small 'legion' if you will. but if it didnt have the free credits upon leveling, i wouldve lost interest in a week. if this game had free gp upon rank up, then it would be near impossible to lose interest.

wolf prince, thats exactly why i said it could be special modules... i gave a few examples, basically SOMETHING for our continued loyalty... and honestly, do you remember how long it took to get those ranks... i do a bit of everything, and its been a year for 258 of them... come on, i dont WANT to buy the damn terraformers for the mission, BUT I AM, ive found a massive total of THREE terraformers since i started playing... and as far as the 'free planet fluxes" goes... WHO CARES!!! higher ranked players can mass spawn them from the mission that gives them.... who calls that fair? oh wait, I DO, its a REWARD for being high rank and being diligent in mission chains..

who the hell says mission rewards are underpowered? they take up no deck space! which amounts to an undefined amount of attack/defense/scan cloak/ or whatever per deck space!

destroyer, you have noticed the previous comments right?? even if i got 2 GP every 5 ranks, id have a grand total of FIFTY after a year... so ONE planet flux is gonna make dan go broke?? i think it would be more enticement to spend more for the limited artis.
Or maybe you missed the entire side that said there should be MODULES...
