 +artifact structure

Just a thought, kind of like the Mylari stripmine

Trading port city

These port cities bring in travelers from all corners of the galaxy bringing with them rare and interesting artifacts from their worlds. To keep the area hospitable sanctions have been placed on mining and research facilities that dampen production, but keep these facilities to restricted (and less than optimal) areas of the planet.

Size 2
Mining -4
Artifact +4
Research -2

50 energy to use

The trend seems to be shying away from big artifact boosting structures, so I figured the size an production modifiers keep this balanced. The energy is more or less just a token of establishing a city.

i feel like the positives are outweighed by the negatives. if you look at it, it gives -2 production overall... thats not really a good place to be in. if it was truly a city structure, i would think since people are selling EVERYTHING it would boost both mining and research. Thus, i would think it would be a size 5, arti 3, mining 3, research 3 structure. its almost a 2:1 production ratio which is decent...

Dan seems to have started something that is similar, I just got Akulan Gas Ingestor size 1 +3 research -2 Art so I wouldn't be surprised to see other similar drops from some of the other planet npcs.

the stripcore mine does the same thing for mining. i'm just saying, when you look at a bazaar, you see trinkets (artifacts), jewelry and other craft based precious stones (minerals), and information if you know where to look (research). But both the akulan gas injector and the stripcore mine come out with a positive output (+3-2=1) this would be a negative 2 overall. So, i can see where there may be one of these in the future, but for it to follow the pattern, it would be either +3 artifact, -1 mining, -1 research, or +3 artifact, -2 research. But i wouldnt think a whole city would be a size 1, considering a mere building is a size 1. Bases and other strongholds seem to be 5 space (omnibase, drannik archive, captured crimson base).

I can understand when it comes to some of the normal planet types I tend to think towards optimization using the art on a gas planet so it was pure profit. Since similar arts already exist, I'm not sure if it would help, I'd love to get some more to add to my invincible planets, just not sure if it would happen.

I think a Museum would work.

Size: 2
Artifacts +3
Mining -2
Artifacts Storage 1000
Finds and Stores Artifacts, but has been known to stop excavations to protect arts.

I would happily take -10's to research and mining if i could get a +4 to artifact.

Ya sure you go to a trade show and there are trinkets made out of minerals that took research to produce but neither the research nor the minerals are actually produced at the trade show, ergo only artifacts are exchanged. You cant count the same mineral twice.
