Are they downright rude, mean, and evil? -yes Are they part of the game just to get in our way and waste our energy so we have a harder time autoranking?- yes Is this fair? yes.

It would be nice however if these were added to the 2 npcs that give you dark badges. At least as a random chance grab if not a guaranteed badge hit. They take just as much energy as the assassins do to kill and you get almost no reward.

20% chance? i mean, theres already a chance to give crimson amps (or so says the devs, dont know if i ever got one from em) but this would be nice. considering assassins are about twice as hard, but i gladly kill em, itd be nice to give flamehawks a reason to die.

I'll get the amps about 15% of the time. I'm thinking maybe 20% amp, 20% dark, 60% obelisk. One or the other, that way there's not as much bonus out of them and they stay as they should - Chinese water torture of GL: "LET ME TO MY NPC'S ALREADY #(@*$&*(@$"
+1 to the idea, though.

They're annoying to deal with, which makes the rewards feel somewhat subpar. Although a Drannik, an EMP, and a Disarming Bomb makes them less annoying.

I don't midn the suggestion itself, in fact i like the concept of a bit more randomized dropping...

However, this still seem to be a "typical complaint" to me, so please change the thread title

It is atypical because most threads about flamehawks complain that they are too strong or too many or don't drop amps enough. All I am saying is that they should be part of the dark badge group of npc . So it really isn't a complain at all.

you are also, without realising, making a complain very similiar to "don't drop amps"
Because you are, as the others: unsatisified with the drop given the difficulty of the kill
If flamehawks dropped QSE, nobody would complain that they are too many/too strong, so it's all a matter of reward vs difficulty
and therefore, on a fundimental level, it's still the same matter, you just subbed "amps" for "dark badge"

You have issues so l should just let you believe that you are right. . .
However...
A suggestions page is intended for threads about issues that could/should be changed or improved. If a suggestion for improvement = complaint in your book well fine. We should rename the page complaints and ideas then. However, "suggest" and "complain" are not synonymous terms. The title stays as is because it still applies. Enjoy your day.

I have to give this idea and really, any idea to change Flamehawks, a -1. They're fine just the way they are. Yes, when you first start fighting them, they can be a bear to kill. I fondly remember some of my own gripes about how crappy it was when my tab was filled with them. But at a certain point, I can't recall the exact rank, they become the ONLY non-mission, ranked common NPC there is. You soon end up killing them in 7 or 8 shots (MinShot is 7) so they end up having a fairly reasonable xp ratio. Say an average of 12 xp per shot, times 7, that's 84... Plus 35 on a no-drop disable (with a neural because who hunts NPCs without a neural) puts it at 119, divide by 35... 3.4 xp/energy ratio. That ain't bad actually considering you can get well over 5.0 on Chargers and Runners... It's all about balance. Given the shear number of these things that high rank people kill on a daily basis, even at a 10% drop rate for Darks, you're still going to end up with TONS of badges. There needs to be some novelty to actually wanting to kill Assassins, otherwise there would be complaints about them. Well, more so than there is already. Why bother with a NPC that gives a crap xp ratio and a badge that you can get from other NPCs...

just because suggestion and complaint are different words doesn't mean they can't co-exist
suggestion of NEW content is often a pure suggestion
most suggestions that modify old contents is a complaint-- An expression of pain, dissatisfaction, or resentment.
http://www.thefreedictionary.com/complaint

If you don't have "dissatisfaction", you won't be wanting to change it.

Again, nothing against the content, just the title.
And there is nothing wrong with complaining, we are all human, we all want things. And often times we complain for the better, no need to pick urself clean of that

like I said you have obvious issues and completely missed the point because of those issues.

I do see your point Darth. And I think mostly I would just like to see another dark badge npc and thought the flamehawk would be a perfect fit.
However I don't think you would be seeing too many badges... lets say they have a 10% dark badge drop rate and you kill 300 (which would be a pretty massive run since one assumes you wouldn't only be killing flamehawks) you would only get 30. IF you actually got a 10% ratio and lets face it the %s in this game don't really match up. (case in point uncommon npcs spawning less frequently than extremely rares).
