We've all seen these legions with 0 players left in them, when we scan for bases. They are (usually) lvl3, 50 attack/defence, minimul shields/hull (800?). They're a waste of space, and not a challenge to anyone. The legions will stay dead, because what leader/officer will be able to accept people? The legions will never exist again, and the bases are floating around doing nothing. My proposal (assuming the above is correct) is this: When one of said bases is locked and destroyed, the legion has the option to "cannibalise" it. This means killing it again, within the same lock, but it'll have an arbitrary, fixed hull and defence stat (say 20,000 of each hull and defence). If this is destroyed too, the destroyed bases current contributions are assimilated into the destroying legion's own base. This will a) accelerate base growth in active legions, b) Finish off dead legions and c) Make base combat more challenging and rewarding because you will find less of these ghost bases. |

Once a base owned by a 0 member legion gets disabled, it essential IS gone. No one to repair it, no one can scan it. |

There has been a similar suggestion made before. I say that there should be a "harvest" instead of cannibalize. The lock stays for about 3 days, where the base is slowly dismantled piece by piece. This could open up opportunities for all members to contribute, where they can contribute energy to "refine" the materials gained, allowing for a bonus to the next daily production gain from the legion base. |

You see I think these bases are nice, free badges. We had a level 4 dead base once ![]() |

False (unless changed very recently) I myself scanned the same legionless lvl 4 base within 3 days. Both times it was fully healed. Same thing happens with bases that have only inactives in them. Something repairs them. |

Something repairs them. No, that doesn't happen. The truth is, someone probably flies into the base, does whatever they need to do, then flies out. Thus all members of the legion appear to be inactive. As for the overall topic, I would say -1. Base farming already occurs. If you make it where bases can be harvested and used in your "primary" base, all you are doing is encouraging even more multi player ships. I have said this a ton of times; this game has too many pure scanners/ pure energy ships as it is. Someone will very easily build a lvl 3 base, have it destroyed, then build another and so on. |

Can you cannibalize other active legion's bases? If so, -1. If not, +1 |

Thus all members of the legion appear to be inactive. It was happening about a month ago, while in RoO we scanned RoO 2's old base within 2 or 3 days. Both times it was fully healed. Both times it had an inactive member, not an officer or a leader, but member. The derelict bases really aren't causing a problem. If your legion scans one then easy badges for everyone. And there may be small legions out there that depend on bases like these. I think the salvage thing would be a nightmare to program. Let Dan spend his time elsewhere. |

It sucks when you lock a dead base, and have to wait 7 hours and 58 minutes 'till you can lock another base...just to lock another dead base |

Just to clarify, this'd only happen to the bases who's legions appear as () - 0 members, no legion name, just a base name. NO-one can enter these legions because they no longer exist. |

maybe dan could have base events similar to a blockade.....and if the blockade spawns on one of these abandoned bases , after so long npc's should take it over..... |

ok a idea the base when no one is left in legion you take it apart attack and defense work the same but your damage is the amount of resources you get 100 damage can be 100 em or 1 ctp the abandon bases total health reflects what you can get from it if you lock a lvl 6 when you steal the resources all the way down to it's next lvl is when the fights over and the base will know be a lvl 5 with less health work it's way all the way down as it's killed. |

What about the chance to claim the dead base as an outpost? Bonus to your base. However adds 4 hours to the timer to lock bases. Outpost would be surrendered in main base is disabled. Outpost could be upgraded by that legion. However those upgrades remain in place but the outpost is lost when the main base is disabled. That outpost will FLOAT until discovered by another legion. Disable it and claim it. The cycle starts over. |
