let's say you just locked a base now let's say there is a button to send an invitation to the defending legion to engage in a base war if both parties agree, for the duration of the base lock these changes happen : both legions can see each other's base , but cannot send invites to battle pacted legions both legions' members' battle tabs for pvp is wiped out , to be replaced with random members of the opposing legion badges earned through pvp this way are doubled badges earned through the base disable are doubled the legion who disables the opposing legion's base first get to raid the enemy base as if it was a level higher , the losing legion raids the enemy base, if they disable it , as if it was a level lower
perhaps when the base war is in effect , the lock could be shortened, perhaps to 6 hours ?

Good idea although does need ironing out, good to have double badges for disable of enemy bases because of lack of battle pacts but double badges for pvp not a good idea because someone could alert a really weak player to get farmed. Shortening lock time not really necessary the amount of bases taken out in the last hour of the lock is very small. The raiding bit I like also but maybe when one base gets destroyed the base war expires and everything turns back to normal. As well to stop highe legions farming lower legion (easy double badges) maybe legions could only do this with bases that are equal or higher level than their base.

a tweak :
everyone who hits the enemy base gets at least 1 silver badge when it is disabled , so it is not restricted to just 20 winners on a level 3

That's a nice reward allows low ranks who only manage to do 1 damage to get a badge

Two things...
(1) A complete and total anarchist bloodbath (and accompanying drama) would ensue (2) Why exactly would I invite someone to take a shot at my base? Seems double badges and a chance for a level+1 base raid are small reward for what I could possibly lose if our base went down first...

I agree with Darth. Why would we invite a legion to take a hit at our base? Think about it from the perspective of the legion fighting. How much reward is there really? If it became mandatory every 20 battles or something, it might work, but I really don't think many would participate voluntarily or be eager to have it forced upon them. It sounds cool in theory, but I doubt it would get much traction in practice.

Good idea but, if you want to keep some sort of realism, think about this...
Bases are not aircraft carriers, they are huge static structures hanging in space and ships fly to and fro from them. Perhaps they could move very slowly with manuevering thrusters or tugs but it would take forever to get anywhere. But some sort of "clan war" lock would work as you suggest, with extra medals awarded for hitting the other legion and base as a bonus, and a way of making only that legion appear on BT for duration. Don't like the autorepair idea, don't like the random targets idea, I think they should still be matched to you, but in the other legion.

base wars should be between legions of the same strength 1-10, 11 -20 an so on. Costs more red badges to start the war. The battle tab changes so you can only lock the opposing legion members around the same rank (as pvp now) you cannot alert another player, you can only disable, but have a point system so if the base is not disabled there is a winner that gets rewarded.

1+ Leaders should be able to send base war requests to other legions. The request would include a time when both bases will come up for the damaging. And maybe the legion who wins get a few bil credits into their base funds [depending on the lvl of the base] and a new type of badge [gold maybe]. The new badge could be used to improve the base resource production and the attack/defense of the base...
