I think a great idea would be if members of a legion could "request" a promotion, and the leaders could accept or decline the request, and after 30 days, if the request is not declined, it is automatically accepted. members could work their way to officers and officers to leaders. There could even be a limited number of "slots" available for promotion. Why? have you ever been part of a legion where every Leader goes inactive at the same time?

If that happens, you need to find a different legion....

No offense, but if the entire leadership of your legion isn't even bothering to sign in once a week, you need to find a better legion. You won't get far with that kind of inactivity, especially by the people with the most power. And personally I think you would be wasting your time with your system proposed above since it would take you 2 months in a legion with absentee leaders to instal a new, active leader. Just not a good way to spend your time in game

Not true - if you were an officer, It would only take 30 days. Also, If it were a good base and the members want to keep it, why not?

That's still a month waiting around in a legion where you will never have seniority, and therefore never be able to remove the inactive leaders, who will essentially forever be there taking up space. And this game is so dependent on how many members your legion has/can have that that's seriously crippling for any legion with high aspirations. I'm not saying the idea itself isn't good, I would actually like to have the ability to request a promotion. I'm just pointing out that if your entire leadership is inactive, that's at least that many spots your legion will never be able to utilize.

Not to mention that with no leaders around to approve or deny requests, everyone will end up being an officer or a leader, even those who would do more damage than good.

This would not happen if there were a limited number of slots. All I'm saying is that if members wanted to invest their time and try to recover an effectively abandoned base, they would appreciate the tools to do so. And how could they do more damage than good

Some people are not leadership material, ask anyone who was involved in High Charity....

There's a reason certain powers are limited to officers/leaders, to be set at the discretion of the leader. If the entire legion had the ability to remove and add treaties, promote and demote each other, remove anyone who had been there a shorter period of time, lock bases, buff the base, change the announcement, use the officer comm, etc etc etc it would be too chaotic and open to abuse.

Now if you were to add something where anyone promoted to leader because their request went unchanged for 30 days were to have seniority over the other leaders, then yes this idea would work out great. But without that check, you are still putting in a ton of effort for a legion that can never be full strength

Sure if the leaders have all gone inactive and not logged in for a few months or something you could message Dan and ask for him to promote you to legion leader, dunno if he would do it or not though

Not a bad suggestion
but a useless suggestion

seriously... just find a new legion. There is just no practical application of this suggestion

I think in a few instances, he has done exactly that. I think it would go over better if you were already an officer or a very long-time member.
