This is something that I thought up randomly.
The premise is this: at the start or end of every month, legions can participate in war games (though, it is not compulsory).
Here is how it will work: Before the war games begin, legions lock in whether or not they want to participate.
On the starting date, legions will be randomly allocated an enemy legion with whom they will be warring. The two legions will need to share similar strength stats in order to stop high level legions farming low level legions.
The games will last for one week. In this time, each individual in each legion who wishes to participate is on scan for that week by enemy legions (again, individuals from each legion will need to lock in whether or not they wish to participate beforehand). There will be a separate tab for the war games where each individual ship that chooses to participate is automatically on scan (so, this will be separate from the battle tab).
The competition: In this week, individuals and legions will need to work together to achieve the following.
Most disables. Most damage done. Most hacks. Most raids. Most planet conquers. Most research hacked. Most mineral points raided. Most artifact points raided.
These work on both an individual and legion-wide level, and there will be both legion rewards and individual rewards if your legion or an individual player tops the category.
We can flesh out rewards later as I am currently seeing what opinion on this idea is like.
Now, as added things. During this week, base combat is disabled. This works for two reasons; it stops non-participatory legions from interfering with the games by attacking a base, it allows player to focus on the games, and it allows smaller legions to have a one week respite from their base being disabled.
Another added thing, if one legion wishes to participate, but has too few members who wish to participate, in order to compensate, another legion will be added in as their ally (making it 2vs1); however, care still needs to be taken to ensure that the odds are not tipped too far in one team's favour.
So, what does everyone think? Good? Bad? Any additions? Anyone want to throw fecal matter at me and tell me it's worthless?

I like this idea but...
"The competition: In this week, individuals and legions will need to work together to achieve the following.

Most planet conquers is not fair when people join in and then have some with a much higher rank and scanning power find their planet.
"Another added thing, if one legion wishes to participate, but has too few members who wish to participate, in order to compensate, another legion will be added in as their ally (making it 2vs1); however, care still needs to be taken to ensure that the odds are not tipped too far in one team's favour."
Yea I see what you saying but how having it also set up like base attacking anyone with battle pacts to the legion fighting can join in. Once a legion has too few members who wish to participate, That way you already have legion you are friends with being you ally.
We also need a way to keep legion that work with eachother from ending up attacking each other by giving the legions some choice on who they want to pick to battle

how would you work base battles into this? and maybe winner should be decided by a point system. So like every action you do is worth a certain amount of points like raid = 50 points, hack = 50 points, disable = 100 points etc

Most planet conquers is not fair when people join in and then have some with a much higher rank and scanning power find their planet. That's why the idea was that the legions be of an equal strength rating, that way, they will mostly be fighting others of the same strength and technology. It will be mostly evens across the board. That said, planet conquers can be taken out of the equation as well. matt45561 wrote: "Another added thing, if one legion wishes to participate, but has too few members who wish to participate, in order to compensate, another legion will be added in as their ally (making it 2vs1); however, care still needs to be taken to ensure that the odds are not tipped too far in one team's favour."

We also need a way to keep legion that work with eachother from ending up attacking each other by giving the legions some choice on who they want to pick to battle No, the idea is to keep the playing field level, and for the opposing teams to be random. Bringing in battle pacted legions will only distort that intent, because then all you need is a mid-strength legion to have a battle pact with a much stronger legion, enabling the stronger legion to farm. Having legions who work together stick together is contrary to the idea of the games. It's supposed to be a single legion wins out, regardless of whether or not its a BP ally. It's meant to be a war game where there is no bad blood, merely games of strength and ability. If you have solely BP allies against non-BP allies, the top 10-15 games would be boring, because it would basically be Honey Badgers and Co vs Dysos and Co. By having RANDOM opponents, it keeps the games fresh and interesting, but again and I stress, WITHOUT the bad blood that comes from traditional warfare.

For instance, since one of the categories is 'most mineral points raided', it actually forces player to go after the bigger players rather than the smaller players (as you can score more off the bigger players). If it was merely a point system, low ranked combatants would be farmed by high rank opposition members in order to score more points, but the point of the games themselves is to promote positive competition, and low rank farming is contrary to that.
