I bring this up because I've done it in the past and now I have a lower level player in my legion asking what he could do. Basically through some silliness he clicked to colonize on a crap planet that he didn't want. When I did it, it was during my last scan blitz, and I was engaging in such a big flurry of clicks that I didn't notice immediately that I'd clicked what I'd clicked. Now, I don't personally think we should add an extra click tab to colonize like is required to abandon a planet. But perhaps a 5 minute cool down after colonizing a planet, in which you can change your mind and negate the colonization of said planet if you so choose. Kind of like a cool off period in which you can express Buyer's Remorse. That way I don't have to spend 5 gp for what was an honest mistake (in my case) involving a button clicking frenzy. I would even be cool with the colonization costs being retained by GL for my mistake. |

Question at that point is, if you have the cooldown, can you take a planet from one legion, and within five minutes quickly move to another legion, alert it, and abandon. That could mean that the planet actually moves to another unintended player. |

Perhaps it's changed Rarek, but the last time I was out and about from my legion, I couldn't alert planets for atleast 12 if not 24 hours. So if it's as I remember, that couldn't happen. |

Ah alright, my mistake. I suppose this might work, it would give us some leeway, but I have this sneaking suspicion there's something which could be exploited, even if I can't think of it yet. A cautious +1 |

This topic also seems to refer to colonization, not invasion. I'm sure something could be worked in to make newly COLONIZED planets abandon-able for a short window, and I would be in favor of this with one catch. If a planet is colonized and the hour production timer triggers in the five minute abandon-able window, the planets production is not included, or the planet becomes ineligible for free abandon. Just seems like something that could get exploited along the line. |

Ofc, if the production thing can be "contained", it would be best. But if not, we can run without it. On a side note, the production might be significant if you use a bunch of the x hour worth of artifact in the 4 min.. for example, 200 research*4*20 (from the data thingy) is 16k, and 200 research while not exactly ez to get on most uncolonized planets(that you won't wanna keep), is not impossible. So perhaps those kind of artifact usage can make the free abondon go "poof", ofc this is still a trvial matter compared to the orginal suggestion so~ long as CR is not refunded for the colonization, I still doubt anyone would exploit this~ PS: planet alert is 7 days, player(ship) alert is xx hours(not exactly sure) |

I like the idea. It would have to apply only to colonization. It would be really hard to attack + conquer a planet "accidentally" given multiple clicks of different buttons, so it would be really hard to justify having a 5-minute free abandon on conquered worlds (plus it would make farming green badges too simple). I think the suggestion about production not counting during the cool-down window is a good addition for preventing abuse. Although, if the planet was good enough to provide meaningful production why would you change your mind about colonizing it? |

im liking this. only works for colonisation, not invasion. planet cant give any production in the first 5 minutes, etc etc. +1 |

So far the impression I'm getting is that no one can think of a real loophole for abusing this fix (as long as colonization costs aren't returned). I personally can't see any, but I missed out on the All-knowing, All-seeing bus, so I could be wrong on that. Keep having a look though as I'd really like to see this implemented. Nothing in it would be unbalancing and it would facilitate good, honest gameplay which is always a plus in my book. |

this could be changed with a "Are you sure you want to colonise this planet" option? like how we've got with the Tri-Matrix artifacts. |

+1 I can't see a work around for this either. I've never needed it for that reason (low level idiocy is the only reason I've abandoned planets), but I still say, sure, why not. |
