As the title says, create a mission chain somewhere in the low-mid ranks that will reduce the trading tariff by 1-5%, or whatever % of Dan's choosing.

Already one an ability is given at the end of Dark smugglers mission so you can lower by 10% tarif for a period of time .

i am guessing, he stated for low lvl guys, cant see issue here, same type of mission... just with lower type of rewards

same as say Shadin rewards or Dark ring - Megacomplex - Nexus line

ah , well if both effect (lower ranked one and the one I talked about) can't be used at same time , I see no problem .

Tough 5 % would be appropriate for lower ranked

I have to say no to this for 2 reasons.

(1) The Dark Aperture Key was added in part to offset the beating that most high rank players took to their incomes when Dan changed the daily reward from a scaled credit payout to 4 hours production. And it is available to mid rank players.

(2) If you are a low rank (under 250-300) and you have problems with your income... You're doing something wrong. Prices of stuff at those levels is insanely cheap compared to what people over...say 550...have to pay for everything.

not true darth not even a little bit true ive got some members of my legion that are sporting 50 billion+ upkeep at rank 200 because they have all top tier researched mods on there ship already so some help with income would be handy, for me it wouldn't be overly needed seeing as ive made my mining production overly redundant with how much im pulling i can pay my upkeep in 2 hours of production and im not even a builder.

I'd like to know the exact rank specifically where the mission is available for it. Nothing in the wiki about rank requirements for it.

I don't know how to respond to this.

1) That is purely subjective. You don't know what its like being a rank 250 who's never gotten RP from base shipments, or who's gotten alot of RP from base shipments. For all you know, they could have (and i already have a few) all last tier modules researched already. Insanely cheap, huh?
2) Unfortunately, what you think is right or wrong doesn't matter and doesn't apply. Everyone is different in research progress, and planet development. I for one, don't buy planets. My income isn't that high, but i do have a lot of high-tech modules. If you think what you guys over 550 rank have to pay for is insanely expensive (and i'm using your definition of expensive), then you're doing something wrong as well.

Max upkeep is WAY less then that ...

Well, I'm rank 620+, I've spent 140k in energy NPC farming and haven't gotten Caelon to show up once. My upkeep is over 5B a day. So, just because Mid and High level players can, in theory, have the tariff reducing ability doesn't mean that they do and doesn't mean that a lower level version of the same ability wouldn't be appreciated. Not as much as a little luck in the NPC department, but we'll take what we can get.

Not only is max upkeep way less than 50B, there is almost no chance a rank 200 ship could have enough decks to possibly fit a max load out. Not even close without insanely slow ranking or a lot of GP purchased Ship-bots.

I call bull #&$#... Upkeep maxes out somewhere between 16 and 17 billion.

Pretty sure it's either 300 or 350.

Actually, I do know a little bit about not getting RP from a base payout at rank 250, because there were no bases at that time. I had to do things the old fashioned way. Live within your means. If you can't afford the cost and/or the upkeep, then you shouldn't try to install it. I didn't say that the costs of the top tier stuff is "insanely expensive" for US. There's a cap. Once you reach that point, all your extra income is just that.. extra. Want to take a guess how long it took me to install my 8 Heavy Quasi cannons after I had it researched? 6 months. Why? Because I knew that I would not be able to afford the upkeep AND do all the other things like colonize/invade and repair my ship during combat. I lived within what I could comfortably pay for. Just because you have something researched does not mean you have to install it IMMEDIATELY. I still don't have all my scan mods or cloak mods installed yet. By "doing something wrong" I'm saying that low rank that can't afford their upkeep is either (A) over-extending themselves with their mods, or (B) sadly lacking on mining production. Fix that situation and they don't NEED an Aperture Key type system. High ranks get it not because of "insanely expensive" upkeep, but because of planet colonization costs. Mineral production is essentially a linear progression while colonization/invasion is exponential. There is no way you can keep up with rising planet costs.
