now that raiding is no longer a joke we might as well have a trap for that.

1) toxic gas - incapacitates the attacking raiders for 2 hours

Ships need to be disabled before they can be raided, so normal traps somewhat protect against the raid already. So preventing the raider from raiding for 2 hrs (like Firewall) can be a bit dry. How about some special effect, like:

toxic gas - intoxicates the raider crew to become vulnerable in raids; any raid against the intoxicated crew is always critical for the duration of 2 hours. The intoxicated crew suffer increased chance of critical failure when attempting raids on other ships.

right... i take it back then. for a moment i forgot how much of a pain it can be to get past the 1st line of traps. :roll: but your right they are sufficient to stop raiding.
