Post subject:  Shorten base lock times idea

Was thinking of a way we could have a new research tree for our base that shortens base lock times.

So although you have shorter base times you can lock more targets therefore increasing amount of base raids and silver badges gained.

Tech Tree
Base lock (or some other name lol)
5 million research = 1 seconds shorter base times.

so if all 60 members complete it 1 time = 1 minute shorter
each member can complete maximum 240 times
for a total of 4 hours shorter base lock time
total to research= 1,200,000,000

An option would become available in the base setting for leaders/officers to decide between 8,6 or 4 hours when enough has been completed to allow that option.
(option can be changed only once per week )

The only way to research this is by hunting common npc's that spawn something like

Tech Horder
common
matched npc
Cloak 1000

80% chance to drop Base Databank
10% chance to drop 5 ctp
5% chance to drop Dark Badge
5% chance to drop Tech Sac


Base Databank
Adds 20,000 research to the Base lock shortening tree
Requires 500 exotic matter and 2 Tech parts per use

Tech Sac
You gain 50 energy per use

This whole thing would require a legion effort of killing
60,000 Base engineers per person
30,000,000 Exotic matter per person
120,000 Tech parts per player

You would need to disable
250 of these for a 1 second shorter base lock time


this would all require a huge legion effort and a long time to finish.

What do you all think of my idea :D

I think you guys will be soloing a lot of bases if this happens or waiting for us to finish our locks

As to the idea in general... I don't think many legions would/could even bother with this kind of idea. There is really only a relative handful of people that can afford to divert research points away from the existing tech. The vast majority of people still have plenty of ship-tech and base-tech to research, plus there's most likely less than 10 fully stocked CT Labs. And as Littlefluffy implied, something like this would completely compromise Battle Pacts. Say one legion in a group of 4 knocks 5 minutes off their time. Now they are either forced to solo for 5 minutes till the rest of the group clears their timers giving them a decided advantage in damage potential (silver count and raid %), or they are forced to wait till the others clear completely wasting the effort involved in the first place.

Five minutes or 2 hours... It's the essentially the same. Only difference is, the longer the gap, the more pronounced the effect.

So you guys get to 6 hrs a month before anyone else. And for that month you can either set to 6 hrs and lock with us 1 of the 4 times a day you can or keep it at 8 hrs wasting the effort and diluting the spawn pool, and by a small flaw in you design never get to 4 hrs, because that requires 60 members and unless you guys give up planet traders is not happening.

So again you will be soloing or waiting for us.

Was talking to some guys we think that higher lvl bases you should have to put research in the base to lvl and decrease the em ctp and energy required for them.
