Portable Collective Theory Lab: Size: 10, Ability: A mini-CTLab that each individual user controlls. You can unlock it for use on your use on your ship by researching Hybrid-Theory Dynamics. Here is an example of one of the artifacts you can create.

Maintenance Drone: Size: 5,(Limit 3) (Requires 50 Ship Bots, 50 Processing Cores, and 50 Crimson Obelisks) Ability: Allows you to permanently increase one of the following(per week):
(Total amount) (Evenly Split)
Deck +1 (156 Decks per yr) (15 per yr)
Cargo +5 (780 Cargo per yr) (75 per yr)
Energy +2 (312 per yr) (30 per yr)
Hull +10 (1,560 per yr) (150 per yr)
Shield +5 (780 per yr) (75 per yr)
Attack +2 (312 per yr) (30 per yr)
Defense +2 (312 per yr) (30 per yr)
Scan +2 (312 per yr) (30 per yr)
Cloak +2 (312 per yr) (30 per yr)
(7 weeks left over)
Also requires you to have the module INSTALLED FOR A WEEK BEFORE USE. If you uninstall it you must reinstall it for the cooldown timer to be in effect (in which case the timer should reset)

OR

Fully restores the condition of ten ship modules

what do you think?

remove deck, scan and cloak and it MIGHT not be torn apart and probably need to change the recipe. Ship bots yes, processing core? obelisks? not seeing how they are related to this, maybe prisoners...maybe.

if by "individul user controlls" you mean you can choose which one to use, then the +deck option can be kept.
Those who need deck can use it and it's not too op, those who dont can just use something else

But, scan and cloak's gotta go.

furthermore, from the look of it, it appears to be a module that u can install/uninstall... well, if that's the case. Then it should come with a 7 days cd on installation, and allow the ability every 7 days while it is installed for the full duration

cores I can understand tbh, it is, for all intent and purposes, a "chip" which is reasonable to be included in a lab.
But I agree that obli makes no sense, I know you want to get rid of them but... this isn't quite the right way
I think, the more apporitate items is one or more of the following:
prisoner, android scientist, neural interface
related to people, research and mind don't cha know~

well for the increase to your damage I think a few of the things should be increased but I'd use them I'd go with neurals

PORTABLE CT LAB! WHOOO! But I do agree with everybody else. Scan and cloak is a no go for that.

Repeatidly bumping your own posts after 2 months of inactivity is going to hack a lot of people off (in fact I am surprised there has been no comment already).

Personally, I don't see the point in this. Surely a COLLECTIVE theory lab negates the idea of making it portable... If the point is to allow someone to make their own recepies that are not shared with the rest of the legion, then they need to be far less powered than the CTL ones as you can't spend as much research to get them... It would also stop people putting into the CTL if they had their own.

Sorry, it's a -1 from me

I like the idea. Supported.

Maybe because they know it's a good idea.

It was a good idea that has just popped back up into my head.

This is just an idea. Dan can make a few tweaks to it.

No they do not. They can still be as powerful as the CTLab ones

Lot's of people who play GL have extra RP lying around. They're just too lazy to spend it into the CTLab, or they don't want to risk losing the RP.

P.S. - Leave the idea trolling to Darth. At least when HE does it I can actually see his point.

~sigh~ you had a grand total of 3 people post, and nothing actually related to the idea of a portable CTLab, before you decided to keep bumping it. I am sure nearly every suggestion I have made is a good idea, should I go through and bump all those back up?

So in essence, what you are suggesting, is a module, which takes up valuable deck space, needs the same level of research and costs the same as the CTL to use, and works in exactly the same way just without actually sharing your research with the rest of the legion. What EXACTLY is the benefit of this? Tagging the word portable on the front, when the whole point of a CTL is the collaborative nature of it is completely redundant and does not make for a wonderful new idea.

...and I cannot believe that anyone has "spare research points" just lying around that they can't be bothered to use. Anybody that has researched up to HTD understands the use of research points and will never just let them go to waste. Even when you have researched every track to it's limit, you still have the option of cashing them in if you don't want to donate to the CTL.

As for me apparently trolling? I was polite, I was not argumentative or insulting, I kept my language clean, and posted my own thoughts on your idea (which is kinda the point to this forum). How is any of that trolling?

A. No. Just no. Half the suggestions are crap, and a repost of the same crap, just with a different spin on it.
II. This portable theory lab (We'll call it the PTL) would have different recipes than the CTL.
3. Need I say more? Point II completely discredits your argument against a theory lab being portable.
D. Oh really now. I don't even have the research contract, yet I can guarantee you that in a year, I will have research lying around. In fact, look at the top players research wise. Until the use 300M research points medal was introduced, the leaderboard hadn't changed much. Even after the fact, PSICore doesn't seem to be doing any research. So, there are plenty of players who have spare research lying around. In fact, the amount of research points you can spend on actual research is finite, so there will always be players with spare research.
V. I don't think either of you know what actual trolling is. You don't have to use foul language to troll, nor do you have to be insulting or argumentative.

edit: fixed some grammar and spelling flaws

I know full well what trolling is and I know you don't HAVE to be insulting, argumentative or use foul language. I was however trying to point out that there was nothing inflamatory about anything I wrote, and was merely my point of view on the suggestion made. In fact, it strikes me that the most troll-like response in this whole topic so far is your attempt to wind me up branding my suggestions collectively as "crap". Might have bothered me if you hadn't demonstrated you can't read and inwardly digest a coherant argument.

Nothing you have said has made me change my opinion. It makes no difference what you call it, what you still have in essence is something that takes up deck space and does exactly the same as something else we already have. I still think this is a totally redundant concept.

Anyway, as I said, I put my view forward, as is the point of this forum. If Dan wants to impliment a suggestion he feels is worthwhile, he will. I am just trying to take part in the process so I can help make the game as enjoyable as possible. I am not going to let myself be drawn into a retarded tit-for-tat exchange with anyone. If that's your bag, I will leave you to it.

It doesn't just take up deck space. It gives players more to do, and gives the high rank players something to accomplish.

Dan has his hands full with the GTC. This would go on his list of ideas to implement in the future. This idea will also give use to the extra RP the high rank players have. Since the RP requirement is the same as its base counterpart this would be an ideal module for those high rank players, who have already researched everything.
