Someday, our descendants (or ourselves in our retirement years) will happen upon Voyager 1 & 2, Pioneer and other long-gone satellite probes. May we please have random events in which we happen upon satellites launched by civilizations long-gone (or even still around, like we will hopefully be) as well as ships long since abandoned? Such events could cause us to get a boost in mineral, artifact, or research shipments. Or we could find rare artifacts in such satellites/ships. Moreover, perhaps we could find old, adrift satellites and ships in a failed planet scan. "You fail to locate a planet. However, you manage to find an old satellite adrift: The (name of satellite type) launched by (this defunct or current civilization) in (a year of the game's calendar). The satellite has (# of resource points, or name of rare artifact.)" |

I don't really see the point to this, sounds like some kind of one time planet. |

Could be good... I mean every time we disable an enemy ship I would assume that leaves behind some floating space junk, and in an intergalactic community I would expect a metric butt ton of satellites, so it stands to reason you would come across them. I have some things I would add to it if you are open to suggestions but I don't wanna jack your idea. |

How about if you find one, a Dialogue comes up showing you a picture off it, and you have the option to change your ship to the one you found. |

JoshFFuller wrote: would make a great planet event imo You mean something like a satalite/junk or an asteroid landing on the planet? would it be negative or positive? Causing damage to your buildings/killing population or giving you rare artifacts? is an idea though. |

The planetary event is a better idea. |
