I'm not much with names, so I won't offend anyone by attempting to come up with one.

I think GL needs a race that could (for perhaps 15-20 minutes) not set off any traps when attacking/hacking players, or attacking planets. That would be cool.

Just as Xecti is sort of the unlockable "anti-PvP" race compared to Aerlen, this would be a sort of unlockable PvP race to replace Konqul. At higher levels (at least in the mid-levels) the hardest part about PvP is traps, so a race that could temporarily avoid them would be a huge asset. I don't think it should have an attack bonus, and professions could be the same as Konqul or something. Just a though... comments?

To O.P.? Not creative enough? To restricted (24-hour timer)?

(I know *I* would spend the GP to get it a.s.a.p.)

That wasn't what I meant. :?
I meant it to be in addition to Konqul. An unlocked PvP race.

somehow i feel it might be the long debated hull regen ability or a race of such effect...

think about it... bio ship.... organic living ship that heals XD

No. The traps help maintain the balance of the game. I don't use halcs, mainly because I know how frustrating it is to hit a halc. However, I do use KVTs and Omicrons and Quantum Firewalls. You can counter the KVTs and Quantum Firewalls by simply using Null Fuses. Omicrons don't really have an effect to counter. Honestly, if you can't take 400 damage and keep going, you shouldn't be PvPing.

My problem is the halcs. It's ridiculously frustrating now that they aren't a removable trap (like before). Useful -- yes, but wasting 500 energy because everyone in my BT has halcs on and I can't find someone without one (I "bump" them all and the new ones have halcs too) would be nice to avoid for 15-20 minutes per day. For me anyway.

PVP is messed the most messed up part of this game and the "cures" have only made it worse. I like the idea of this ability but perhaps make it just that - an ability like the trellith that any of the races can have access to after completing certain missions. It would have a limited effect (be it on a timer or a certain amount of ships/traps) and you wouldn't be able to use any artifacts while using this ability - so no stat debuffs on other players ( you could have beneficial effects on your ship but if someone CMs you then you can't reapply till your ability wears off) This way you cold hunt trap free for a certain amount of time and you would avoid abuses. (with an 8-12 hr cooldown)

Also I can see this as being a possible "fix" for all the "waaah!!! they wore halcyons and calming amps while trashing our base!!! waahhh!!!" complaints.

I say the suggested benefits for a race are very poor. Traps? Use trap probes and fuses. I'd say maybe a race with a 40% pvp attack bonus, or something like that.

Couple of things...

1) Everyone that whines about hitting traps is either doing it wrong or shouldn't be PvPing in the first place.

2) No way should there be a race that gives +xx% attack solely in PvP. There are already plenty of attack buffs to lean on.

the halcs are there for a reason, and that reason is, if someone doesn't want to PVP or to be attacked by anyone then that's why the halc trap is there, there should not be a race/profession for this bypass and yes null fuses are there to get past virus traps and quantnum firewall traps, and if an omicron mine trap or a thetacron mine trap stops you, thats why repair nanodrones were made! :roll:

For the first time, I'm running with halc's on, I for once stopped PvPing and currently doing Kronyn Mission. Hopefully Mylaria ASAP.
