Hi
I was thinking recently that a nice new feature would be new non-player races that unlock when you have a truce pact with one of the unlockable races. Maybe a particular alien race is at war with a particular unlockable race - and once you have a truce pact with them, you enter the war!
For example, maybe the Zolazin have been at war with an alien race in their region of space for hundreds of years
These new non-player races have their own specific drops etc, as well as commons, uncommons, rares, elites and bosses that start to appear on your BT.
You do not need to BECOME this unlockable race to get the npc's, just unlock the race - so they are now permanently available to show up on your BT. The fact that you have a truce pact with this unlockable race means you are now their ally and an enemy of their enemies....
Im not going to try to think of new non-player race names, or the arts they could drop - I'll leave that to the experts.
I think this idea would help solve the problem of running out of decent non-player enemies to battle once you get to higher ranks
Hopefully people like this idea...

+1 to this idea, we have the perfect race available for this right now, the vollir.
The storyline of the missions could easily end with the vollir retreating back into their space, but as you've stated perhaps they could be unlocked to our battle tab at the end as they make repeated incursions into our space.

I think we should have more NPCs in general. I think new factions would be cool, and that would allow for new enemies to be added for high and low players. So yeah, +1.

There should be an NPC that will near match your Attack/Defence, to make it somewhat challenging for the high ranks.

+1 That's actually not a bad idea. Perhaps a race that can camouflage? EG. It can copy your exact ship design with everything, except it's evil and has a reddish glow to it. You have to defeat it to start the missions perhaps? It's also a good NPC to have... a ship identical to yours. Gives you an idea how easy/hard it is to defeat yourself.

You know what else might cool, is race specific enemies. You know, as Vygoid a certain faction may appear as an enemy, or as Konqul a different one could appear. That would encourage people to change races more often, or try out different ones for different NPC drops. I like the idea of an evil "cloned" version of the player's ship. It could be a ridiculously challenging mission boss with the same stats as your ship, and no artifacts can be used for buffs or nerfs. That would be cool, but I think I wouldn't be able to beat it.

It's a sad day when a guy can't even beat himself...

Heh, I just have a wimpy mission built ship, not particularly decent at combat. But great for doing missions and collecting all the mission rewards/modules. But it does make my ship pretty wimpy, but that's okay with me. I'm Sillixx so I can have lot's and lots' and lot's of stuff equipped.

That's what I was thinking too. That would be pretty cool...wonder what it would drop though? Hopefully something worthy of the boss.
