Dan why is it there is no cap on population on a ship.


With each ship class size there should be a population cap. and then the extra member would need to have cargo space to hold them. Say a scout has 10 then need + 1 for each additional member, the next size up would have 100 +1 cargo per extra member.

not sure what the max would be but it just make cargo space required ore. and would explain were they are all fitting on the ship.

Then another attribute that can be factored into the battle tabs is a ships size, the smaller the ship you have the better the def bonus you would have fighting a larger ship. take the x wing fighters for example they are evenly match compared to the tie fighter(so no bonus), but are much more evasive on a star destroyer(evasion bonus). so the smaller not saying their weapon skills are better but they would evade a lot easier and hit a lot more, were a lager ship fighting a smaller one would miss a lot more but do a lot more damage as they do now.

Any thoughts or am I way of kilter with this.

+1 a small scout shouldnt be able to hold 10k crew, not even Kaos would be that cruel :roll: Plus there could be a min number of crew you need before being able to add more decks.. A Galaxy star destroyer needs crew to man the decks and controls.. Yes it would be more complicated but thats fun in a way..

that's ok you can just make them inactive past a point... that way they do not lose crew, but when the lv there ship up or add more space they become active.

and it not a limitation. it properly allocating the ship classes to use what they should be capable of.


the ship crew should take up space... and if you want more added you should have to install ship quarters!!!!say each deck holds 1000 people.... and to install a ship crew deck it req 10 MSP and 100 ship bots.... adding a size of say 30 to yoour ship... and about 40-50 more hull

I think the problem is adding ANY feedback on such an old thread is kinda pointless. There were two people out of 3 that '+1'ed it when you originally posted so it's hardly adding negative feedback. To respond directly to an individual post after nearly a year though... Come on, you gotta agree that is kinda retarded in any forum. The guy might not even be on here anymore.

If it hasn't been implimented in a year, there either wasn't enough interest in it or was not seen as worthwhile by the admins.

exactly and now that a year has gone buy it time to resubmit it.... new players new times maybe it was something that was being looked at and forgotten!!!!!! no way to find out unless you retest the water and see what people think.

what was a bad idea yesterday could be a great idea tomorrow...

The reason there is no crew cap is because inside your ship is a gap in the space time continuum which crosses dimensions and allows you to store extra crew in stasis there until they are needed.

There, a faux sci-fi explanation as to why there is no crew cap.

Now stop forcing a certain game play on others. We already changed the damage cap, and that was annoying enough to those people trying their own form of small ship build.

Also, it would require introducing a whole new ship stat. No-one would be happy losing cargo space over this, so we would have to have a separate stat for population space (perhaps with a mutually dependent cap determined by ship size). This takes us too far into the realms of micro-management of our ships (maybe that was the intention).

It's a nice idea in terms of realism but I can't support it from a gameplay point of veiw. Also, I agree the thread should be put back to bed soon.
