New setting available from the ship tab to put you into the Arena. You will remain in the Arena until you turn the setting off. While in the Arena you will only see other players who are in the Arena. You will see players you'd normally see on the battle tab (based off your rank plus scan). Your action counter would either not decrease or would drop at a slower rate than normal, and you will remain in a "aggressive" state for the purpose of calming amps/halcyon traps for the duration of your stay, in order to encourage the no mercy attitude needed to survive/be the best. Note - if you enter whilst in a "calm" (no offensive action during the last 24 hours) this will not carry over if you leave, you'll have to go through the 24 hours of no offensive action to regain the "calm" state. While in the Arena you'd still be able to claim badges from your targets, or alternatively there could be a new Arena based badge that could buy artefacts for exclusive use in the Arena. These could give various buffs, or even new titles/ship designs. Repair timer would remain the same, although repair costs could increase to add more difficulty to the competitors. So.... What's the point of it? What negative aspects are there besides ruining your 24hour calming? What benefit is there? Active PvP people don't want their action counts to stay high, they want them to go down so they can't be retaliated against quite as much. There are a multitude of "battle arena" ideas already in the S&I forum. Most of which are fleshed out quite a bit more than this. All you've done is basically rename the Battle Tab to Galactic Arena. |
