 Personalising your artifact point spend

OK so we all have the artifacts we really want... ship bots, rescued prisoners, android helmsmen or scientists ect and the chances of dan saying yes to openly being able to focus on receiving those in our art drops are net to nill.

I'm not suggesting that.

What I would like is the option to minimise the reeception of items I despise! things I have trillions of and never use.
and some personalisation of what my artifact points get spent on.

This is my suggestion:

On the trade page we can choose an option to reduce drops of types of artifacts.
eg: I don't want as many mass storage pods. These are a cargo/space artifact. as is the tesseract container or ship bots.

So I would look for the "expander artifact" or "Cargo Artifact" option and click it. Therefore reducing (not removing) the chances of receiving these goods.

Other options could be offensive artifacts, defensive artifacts, sensor artifacts, planet artifacts, resource artifacts ect.

You can only choose to reduce one catagory.

by reducing the odds of receiving the artifacts you desire unworthy of your time, you increase the chances of receiving the other items as a byproduct.

What are your thoughts?

Still boils down to selecting the artifacts you want, which defies the purpose of having them being completely random. I'd rather see theory lab blueprints that make use of less-than-optimal artifacts than being able to block them out.

Artifact production is what higher-level play is all about and if you allow the big ranks the ability to focus in on yet more androids and prisoners, then you're creating a bigger gulf between them and everyone else.

Crank up your artifact production to the point where you get a whole lot of everything and you won't mind that a lot of what you generate will be scrapped. It's the same for everyone else and the game is more balanced because of it.

If this was allowed I would just make it so I could get more rescued prisoners.

rather than this suggestion which is a little overpowered and also would require the whole system to be changed a simple mission

390E 100 completions or something repeatable 5 times after each completion you can remove an artifact from your arti pulls permanently.

what trading is for but i could happily get rid of things like void shells, Engineered Virus, alarm sentries,cloning pods,Omicron Mine Traps
off hand would be my selection.

i'd rather buy 100 cloning pods every now and again then scrap them 1000 at a time because i pull so many...

So, you want to increase the chance of getting prisoners by removing other pulls without changing the "weight" of prisoners, thusly increasing the likelyhood without increasing the likely hood?

This was tied to my first post, having these arties out of my pulls would increase the chance of pulling other things like helmsmen x charge cells brackets etc and i would be willing to have to buy items like cloning pods viruses etc rather than have them in my pulls.

While the idea is still a little over powered it would be a better solution then setting a preference because that's not how the arti pulls are coded.

Coding it either way would be equally as difficult and would affect it the same way, so no I still don't like it.

I would remove oblisk....

the other stuff, I probably will come in need of eventually, but oblisk... god.... I use it but there is just an infinte number of them

Ok. I'd set up for prisoners. Just prisoners, and prisoners only. See the problem? I'd be a rank 52 with over 3K attack. I get lots of AP. That's a problem.


Then again, look at Mento. He'd gain 1000's of attack, every hour due to his 110,000 AP/hr..

Sorry, but it's a BIG -1 from me.

NO for one reason

any ship that has ok size and decent cargo will turn off those storage hogs... therefore get more prisoners (MSP is such useless AP hog!!!)

If he made his only artifacts Nanodrones, Prisoners, and Androids, he would have more than enough to buy anything he needs. That said, once everyone did that, Nanodrones would probably become near worthless.

How about instead of picking what you want, rendering the artifacts down into their basic components (aka Artifact Points or AP).

Something like this: the Spy Probe - Defenses Artifact is 250 Artifact points.

If you have 2 million of them and want to get rid of them but don't want to scrap them to get the measly 1250-5000c you can render them down. The process would allow you to take that Spy Probe put in how many you would want to do so and click "Render Down". After you click the butts you get back 80% of the original value as some of the APs are lost in the process. So, that 250 AP artifact becomes 200 AP that you can use in the crap shoot that is an artifact draw.

I think you should be able to do as many at once as you want but, with a cool down period and a nominal energy cost. To make it even more worth while why not make it a Base Research ability with an additive fee that scales with the amount of artifacts that you render down at once which is paid to the Legion Base Funds.

Just pulled that out of the air. Run with it :o

the current artifacts is about 100k per share
if u render ship bot, MSP, oblisk and probes etc, it will return ~24k
which means useful artifacts become 76k a share
this is still OP

furthermore.... if someone would buy artifact for render purposes... especailly someone who reset and is rich as fook, they could build a ship that is nothing short of evil very easily

so..... no
