 Paradise Project: continuation of the Terra Project mission

I'm new to this forum, so I'm not totally sure if this is the correct place to post this.
So, I'm sure that you all remember that the "Project" mission chain was left on a cliff hanger quite a while ago. It would be nice if the mission chain were continued.

The Paradise Project
Description: Recent discoveries suggest that, if enough energy and material were to be transported to an oceanic planet, it could be transformed into a virtually perfect planet, capable of supporting nearly any species of known plant or animal. With enough warp gates in place, transporting the needed materials, this project may very well yield something very interesting indeed.

Un-gray Requirements: Missions completed 300
Per Round Requirements: 125, 1 Warp Gate
Per Round Rewards: 250
Per Completion Rewards: 1 Paradise hyper-enhancer
Per Round Risks: None
Can be completed 3 times.

Paradise hyper-enhancer Description: Transforms an Oceanic planet into a Paradise planet.
Artifact Type: Planet
Set Duration: Permanent
Cost in Energy to Use: 50
Artifact Effects: Size- Mega Colossal. All resources +10. +10,000; Invincibility

Notes: 1. The resource bonus is not as large as that of previous similar missions because it does not require the use of large amounts of Galaxy Points.
2. The planet's size is automatically increased to Mega Colossal, so it is better to use the artifact on smaller planets.

In theory it looks good but the requirements are way too low. Warp gates are easily found in artifact shipments at high ranks so there is practically no challenge involved in gaining the planet.
BUT, this can also work the other way as it gives non-GP users something as well.

Also, barren to oceanic to paradise? Mega-stats much. I'd say there would have to be a new planet type made for it or it could be used on non-invincible mission planets that do not have upgrades for them.

I give this idea .5 Good theory, but organization of it needs some work.

Yeah, not to mention icy-oceanic-paradise.

You basically have to pay 200$ just to finish the Rift Project, so it seemed like a nice little bonus for those who have- a nearly free upgrade for those pesky Oceanics that everyone has lying around.

One way to combat the problem would be to have the artifact only work on natural oceanics. It might be hard to code that though, since it would require tracing every planet's history.

Not seeing the benefit for Dan, Might encourage people to get their rifts, but in they wont buy 3 QSEs getting 3 icies to only C then using this and making 3 32x MC invincible planets. Plus no GP needed.

I highly doubt Dan would give us such an easy planet.

I suppose I could switch out Warp Gate with Weather Controller. It would still be logical, but it wouldn't make quite as much sense.

Could be a 3 or 4 part chain for it. Wormholes, weather controllers and something else or two.

Killing the storms
Description: After gathering all the necessary materials to construct our paradise, We now have to construct weather control stations as the planet's star causes seasonal hurricanes and monsoons that would harm the delicate ecosystem of our paradise. Provide the weather controllers and assist in their installation.

Un-Gray Requirement: Completion of "The Paradise Project"
Per Round Requirements: 200, 1 Weather Controller
Per Round Reward: 375
Round per Completion: 5
Per Completion Reward: 25m credits
Per Round Risks: slight chance of mission failure caused by freak storm
2 completions

Un-grays mission "someone else can propose this mission now~"

;) we can get what you paid for, for free anyway. it just takes us a while to do it

the only things that are truly gp only are base mods, the name change stuff, warehouses, F.A.T.H.E.R's and Trinity Cores. (I know there's probably more, but I'm lazy and it's 11pm here~)

They wouldn't be getting anything for free that you would have bought though. This merely sweetens the deal on the rifts, benefitting both players and the payroll. We hardly need to include weather controllers either. Switch it to a terra and you lose the barren/icy-oceanic-paradise issue, too.

The other way this could work is have it as a continuation of the Melter->Crystal->irradiated chain.
And the planet stats would have to be say, +5 all resources, +500 base population.

I like the idea. I have not completed either chain, but I would definitely like this artifact.
However, I do agree, the size +1 needs to be taken away, or perhaps Dan can set a limit, sort of how resources cannot go over 15X with terraformers (however, this limit would have to work differently than terraformers, i.e. doesn't stop you from using the artifact on a MC planet). Otherwise, we'd have players running around with planets larger than MC.


As much as I like the +10 resources (who wouldn't? We could all have our own 32X planets) But, there also needs to be a limit this as well. Perhaps maybe limit it at 25 or 28X, so that it doesn't create a planet more power than the mission Dyson.

well this will get more ppl to burn cash on Rift projects, there is interest! i am sitting on 2 unfinished ones at the moment, if this would be implemented i would go and burn GP's to get true them and get those ocean enrichers of invincibility

limit the size on which you can use it say VM in that case best you can pump is Colossal 23x mega arti

they wont get it for free... if its after Rift project there is no chance you found all 40 QSE's on your own from NPCing

so you have a mega colossal ocean , and its +1 size , Dan already said he will NOT make bigger planets

and yes warp gates, i got like 200 im not using , to easy to obtain via arti shipments
(hypergate upgrade , maybe)

the theory is not bad tho

How exactly would it be "free?" You still have to complete all missions leading up to the Paradise Project. (The Terra Project, The Colossal Project, and The Rift Project.) This is merely something to make spending hundreds of dollars on this mission chain a little bit more appealing.

I hope my explanation cleared things up for you. :mrgreen:

Although, I think it perhaps fits better as more of a precursor. Or perhaps after the terra project, because the terra project is easy enough to get for free. Make it slightly less powerful compared to the dyson, essentially a taste of the good life, or for lack of better terms, their first taste of a drug. Ya know, hand em out a good planet for free, and then get them hooked on GP planets, and perhaps they'd be more willing to buy them.

a bit of a twist...would be cool if it combined a couple planets...where it drops 2 arts 1 you use on a desert and the other on an oceanic. combines the resources and makes it into a MC.
