To streamline the upgrades of ship mods, instead of selling and rebuying, why not just have an upgrade button which simply deducts the sell value of your existing mod from the purchase price of your next one? Saves some time. There could also be a small button to indicate an upgrade is available or possible for an NPC mod, like if you have a Korteth Blaster in your cargo when your Vortul Blasters are installed. Easier upgrades, especially when you're in the middle of a successful NPC run, when you want your upgrades on asap to get back to work. Food for thought. |

It works on some modules but not all of them. I have 4 Composite Rays - S and 4 Composite Rays - D. By your method, I couldn't have both. There is at least one other mod like that. |

By no means does the upgrade button appear on every mod. It only appears on mods which are AVAILABLE to upgrade. This means that a Vortul Blast Phaser installed would not have an upgrade button if there was not a Korteth Twin Blaster in cargo. There would just be the sell option. Therefore, the composite rays would never have that option |

+1 to the idea thou it might be quite hard to implement, so might not see it any time soon |

The system seems perfectly fine as it is, I'm not quite sure how you can't spend 5 seconds to sell a module then install another. |

The point is when you want to install them asap while hitting elites or on a time constraint. You want that extra power right away, instead of the old system which wastes valuable seconds. It makes a difference. |

If your hitting an elite I doubt an extra what 40 attack would make any difference, besides you'd have applied the upgrade beforehand I would assume. Also a problem with this idea is upgrades generally take up space which means your going to have to sell something to make up the room anyway. |

You would also lose control of your upgrade... would it upgrade just one tier or up to the latest tier? The latter makes less sense as it could be too big a jump to cope with (deckwise, upkeep etc), but doing it one tier at a time is just going to cost a fortune in minerals. The only way I see this as useful is for the shields and hull mods, when selling one mod knocks down your total and you have to then spend more to take it back up again. I realise you have to repair to get the extra hull anyway, but why have to spend credits on hull you already have? |

I'd like to see this... But a more important/annoying thing is how the ship tabs "spring" back to the front page whenever you do anything. Fixing this would make upgrading less annoying too. |
