You had to know it was coming Dan.

For starters, 'Buy it now' feature as kirkeastment suggested in the other thread.
Also, option to remove your auction, returning bidders' bids
Next, I'd like to at least see how many bids have been made on my crap
Remove that 1K cap on exotic matter please...

That's all I can think of. Can anyone else add to this?

I dont think we should have the ability to remove auctions once they have been bid upon, but if there are no bids, then yeah, should be able to remove it.

All the other comments, I agree with.

Its a good start though, and once its polished it should be awesome. Dont think i am ever going past 2bids/2auctions though...

I'm up for ridding that 10 energy per bid, or at least getting it back if you're outbid. Really prevents a LOT of people from using the GTC.

Maybe there should be a lvl thing added on the auctions. As it is right now only high levels can buy stuff. In fact, this should be a must. Its impossible for a lvl 50-100 to win something when he makes a few millions per day versus a lvl 1000 who makes few billions a day.

Nah, it also means that a low level can sell something and get huge cash if they do it right.

Dont want level restrictions on a market :)

NO KIDDING!

FEATURES I REQUEST:

1. "Proxy Bidding." Specify a maximum price you're WILLING to pay, so if someone outbids your CURRENT bid, you automatically bid the next-highest increment, and that keeps repeating until they give up, or pass your maximum specified bid.

2. Search by quantity. (Highest Quantity & Lowest Quantity search buttons.) You want to buy lots of thousands of an item? Press "Highest quantity."

3. A trade chat channel. We can request an item we're looking for, and someone who has it, willing to sell, will post it on the GTC for the requester to bid.

(For anyone who's worried about the chat channel going as fast as an inverted waterfall, too fast to keep up, a cap of 250 players per channel would do fine. Then there'd be "Trade Channel 1," "Trade Channel 2," ad infinitum as demand calls for it.)

(N.B. In "EVE Online," there used to be server-wide channels that may have had THOUSANDS of users populating it, but even then, the chats still appeared fine.

There was just one official server, of over 50,000 concurrent players logged in during peak parts of the day. If such communication rooms turned out fine in EVE Online, it'll turn out just as well or better here.)

-1 to the first idea, thats not an auction thats a high ranker purposefully bidding 1.5 trillion credits so he won't lose the auction, even if hes away for 18 hours.

-1 to the third idea, trade chat is useless, will only have noobs asking bs questions all day and won't be used anyway, plus it'll lag the game like a #$&*@.

+1 to the quantity idea though, would be nice to have a sort function for quantity.

man prices are gunna be fun to watch for a while...
1: able to cancel an auction if no one has bid on it.
2: higher bid number limit... 2/2, really??
3: Buy Now, and Autobids.
4: browse auctions by category, ie: planet artifacts, ship artis, materials, etc
5: sort by number of items
6: perhaps some way of judging averages on prices, so people have a guideline when posting auctions. (this might be tricky though)
7: Auto extend, so if someone bids at the last second, other bidders (if they are online) can see and place a new bid.
8: remove, or lower the energy cost of bidding.

You didn't really need to make a new thread for this post, its clearly visible in the other one.
also, trade channel, AWFUL idea.

Post subject:  Re: ಠ_ಠ GTC needs work... seriously

also, an option to "delete" a bid if some bid higher than you would be helpful, rather than have to wait until the auction expires

if someone placed a higher you would get refunded at the same time

Would you like to specify all of the (major) reasons you could think of?

(I will attempt to refute each one though. Example:

If you cite "Trading comm channels might not leave enough bandwidth for the servers,"

...then I'll point out that IRC has been going strong since the late '80s, and their bandwidth then was nothing like how it is now. The bandwidth consumed by chatting alone would be like a drop in a lake at this point in net development.)

I think they mean so you can stop viewing it in the "your bids" tab if its suddenly too high priced.

Post subject:  Re: ಠ_ಠ GTC needs work... seriously

i was about to make a post, what need urgent work is :
- BUY OUT option
- ability to choose the number of item you want to buy....
- 5 slot would be more viable (up to 10 with GP)

BY URGENT, i mean that in its current state market is USELESS!

delete => i am against, as it could indeed help the market get lower, but without delete button people would think twice before putting an auction and set it at honest price anyway....

autobid => it is not urgent matter.... market can live without it...

name => i would remove name as it could lead to unecessary wars.....

energy => i love it, avoid bid wars, only people without inner sight complain

B/W i would like to thanks admin for listening to our complains about the lack of market! we can only hope it will become a key feature of the game :)

Post subject:  Re: ಠ_ಠ GTC needs work... seriously

add atleast some of the rarer AP pulls that aren't sendable already, like nulls.

the GTC as it is right now, is just a glorified trade forum which won't be able to compete with the already established trade forums and trade groups.

Post subject:  Re: ಠ_ಠ GTC needs work... seriously

This energy to bid really needs to be taken out, Its just encouraging people to wait til the auction is almost over and then to bid otherwise you would have wasted a lot of energy just to compete with others bidding.
