If you have more than one flag for the planets that you are using then you should each have them seperated. So if you had 5 flag planet then they should be like this: show all planets , enemy planets, your planets, legion planets, unoccupied planets, Blue flag , Red flag, Green flag, Purple flag, Gold flag, recently scanned , analyze available. if there only one or none just have flaged planets. another option is to let the user chose if they want all them under flag as it is now or all them seperated.

if a set of flag colors would roll down (another row of icons) , when you hit the show flagged planets OK. but not all in the same row

You could have the up to 5 flag appear below when expanded.

show only ......... flag planets.......
........................... a b c d e this the 5 different flag seperated (the different colors)
I put the dots above because just to move it over.
it would be a user choice how they want it. expanded or colapsed to show the all together.

Flags are for tracking noteworthy planets, not categorizing your entire database.

if i had 5 flags on on some the planets i like to see them seperate. not all flags listed together.

flag your planets that are scanned and can be potentially stolen red
flag project planets blue..
flag planets you want to get rid of gold..
flag planets you sell blue..
flag planets you want to take purple, that cant be your entire database

You're still missing the point of flags... I've got 37 of 700+ planets flagged. (1) Planets I want to get (2) Planets that need improved (3) Planets that need fluxed (4) My storage planets (5) My invincibles. Granted I need to update my "to be fluxed" group, but I don't see any need for any further filtering beyond what we can already do. Let alone any circumstance where a planet would need more than one flag.

thanks for adding the image. when expanded and you click on one of the flags that flag would only be listed. not all of them.

when not expanded they show up together.

I'll +1 this idea.
I have:
Red for planets to take.
Gold for planets with interesting artis on them for future consideration.
Blue for project planets.
Green for NaP planets.
No purple.

If anyone like this idea please post here recommending Dan implement this idea as soon as possible. I would like to use flags but i don't like to see them all the different flags all at once and flip through all them at the same time. It allows for a user to choose how they want them displayed all together or have them seperated. even if you don't use flags it would help improve planet interface.

Here's a solution.
Don't flag everything.

Most of your scans are gonna be crap planets. Leave those completely unmarked.

only really need:
planets your gonna take
ones of yours that are scanned and might need some protection
ones that you're working on
and maybe ones you dont want yourself but can share to your legion.

that should cover most of them. like DF said maybe a flag for storage planets or other planets you want to probe often.

Thats not a solution.
I don't flag everything

I want to see each flag color planets seperate not all together.
If someone want to see them together that there choice how they like it to be.

this a example
say you flag 33 planet out of 94 . 5 one color , 8 one color , 7 one color, 9 one color , 4 one color.

how ever you flag each color to mean what thats is up to you.

I rather they just be organized by color in a list rather than more buttons...

For the people that people that like the them seperated it be expanded to have them appear individualy. Please look at the picture above that what i am talking about before you post. The picture above is the expanded view and what we have now is the all together way or view.
