It would be nice to know how how much an artifact is worth. Perhaps a popup credit value when the mouse pointer hovers over the scrap button? Or maybe add some sort of level or rank to the description. I have a bunch that I'll never use and might want to sell, but have no idea what I would actually get until I scrap it. This could also help keep player trades fair. ("I'll give you this amazing brand new Spy Probe for that smelly old terraforming Device under your bed...)
Just a thought.

The ammount of credits you get is random much the same as it is random how much exp your going to get when you attack someone.
And people aren't entirely retarded regarding the terraformer as it I am almost certain the terraformer can't be traded anymore. The only thing of worth that can be traded anymore is the planet flux I believe.

So scrapping a spy probe would give the same random chance as scrapping a planet flux? It seemed like higher level artifacts gave more, but that could have just been luck of the draw.
(And don't worry I didn't really think anyone would be THAT retarded to trade away a terraformer like that.... That was a joke to make a point.)

Well yes the higher the artifact point cost the more you get but its like 10-15k for mid ranges or somethin.

The scrap value isnt very much. Its a small amount compared to what you would be getting from mining using the same points.
It ranges from ~1300 to 120k depending on how many pts the artifact cost. I should be able to add this range as a tooltip to the scrap button if that would help.

The artifact scrap value tooltips work in IE8 (thank you for adding these, Dan!) but do not work in Firefox 3.6. Edit: It wasn't working in Firefox when I originally posted this message but is working now.
