So basically 2 legions challenge each other

Players from each legion compete in a series of contests

Based on their performances each player will earn points that will add up with their fellow legion mates points.

Legion with the most points wins.

Legions not participating in those games may place bets on which legion they think may win.

Winning legion gets a reward of some sort.

What kind of contests are you thinking? Is this going along with the combat exercise room thing that was mentioned before where players get to square off with each other in a sparring match? Or did you have other things in mind?

atm i don't have a idea of that but I'm trying to think of some contests that people would like like to do. i want to for now give the others on the forum to come up with ideas they would like for contests.

to bring the best of everyones skill, the contests should touch upon every aspect of the game, like NPC kills, player kills, mission (rounds) completed, raids and hacks.

Strong Man Competition: Legions have 10 minutes to use any buffs they want. At the end of the 10 minutes, the legion with the ship with the highest strength wins the event.

going with this, the London Olympics are lasting 17 days in total from opening to closing ceremonies, so thats 17 days where we can have different events. So could have a day of NPC killing, day of PVP, maybe a mission day etc (someone expand on these please). But at the end a legion gains points for how well each of its members does, so we can have some form of overall winner/2nd/3rd, for GLs first galactic olympics

Sounds good Luke, though with a game like this it's hard to hold people's attention for long amounts of time, so rather than 15+ days, once every 2 years, maybe 3-5 days once every couple months. (6?)

Enough time to do NPC, PvP, and Missions equally since those are the 3 options for play style essentially. Maybe throw in bases as a 4th option.

that does not take any skill, I think that these competitions should require knowledge, logic, skill, and maybe science.

just an idea

There's no "skill" involved in this game beyond who has the best strategy at ship building and fastest internet connection. What would we be able to do to show knowledge or logic? As far as science you could go with which legion has done the most collective researching, though that doesn't really seem to fit into the whole "Olympic Games" theme of this.

when most people see PvP they think of one ship disabling another...
