Post subject:  Idea for a new high level Daily Mission

This would be available for players above rank 600, costing 500 energy and a Tachyon Cylinder, and has 10 rounds per completion.

Forbidden Knowledge
There is evidence that members of the RSL have begun new Temporal and Psionic experiments, using small outposts with advanced warp energy capabilities. Find a way to halt these experiments, or attempt to procure the findings. Bursts of Tachyon particles should hide your approach.

At the end of each completion there would be a battle:
RSL Research Station
A small and mysterious outpost focusing on developing new and dangerous technologies, they often keep samples of their prototypes on board.
Stats-
Shield : 60,000
Hull : 40,000
Attack : 10,000
Defence : 7,500

Rewards:
*Chance for Temporal Window - A device used to recreate detailed plans of ancient ruins, allowing excavation teams to focus their efforts. This would activate a 2 day event on a planet, granting a 40% production boost to artefact. Cannot be used on planets that have been attacked in the last week.

*Chance for Warp Null Pylon - An advanced version of the Warp Inhibitor, only recently developed for testing, the Pylon prevents warp travel whilst in the same planetary system. Planet Structure size 2, +2000 defence. While on the planet, no further artifacts or abilities can be used on the planet. Can only construct on planets that have not been attacked in the last week.

*Chance for Psionic Screech Mines - Devised for Stryll Contacts, the Mines create painful sensations in those races that have Psychic traits, often causing pain and temporary paralysis to those in the affected area. Planet Trap, 1 week. When applied, the first ship to attack the target planet will cause the mines to activate, meaning the planet gains a 600 defence boost, and prevents Genetarr ships from invading the planet for 2 days.

*Chance for Kinetic Transference Station - Advanced systems on a ships exterior, these collect energy from particles in space, using them to improve shield integrity and produce a fourth dimensional barrier that disperses harmful energy. Ship Module, size 12, limit 3 per ship. Grants 300 defence and a 5% boost to Shield Charge rate per hour.

Any comments/changes? feel free to change the rewards or suggest a drop chance % on each one.

I like the idea, so +1.

The rewards however, well i'm split down the middle. The first one is fine for a mission that requires 5k nrg and then a Boss NPC which would likely take another couple hundred nrg to kill, and i suppose the Warp Pylon is kinda ok too(but would be preferable as a drop from an ex.rare NPC rather than a mission).

However the other 2, aren't really artifacts i personally would like to get for a cost of 5k nrg.

The Psionic Mines are kinda lame, basically an alarm sentry trap, which prevents Genetarr invasions(a race rarely used in this game(if your smart) or are going for the medal).

The Kinetic Transference Station; I like the defense for the size, but its another repeatable mission with a ship module drop, which means once i've got my 3, any and all future ones are a waste of 5k nrg.

I gotta go with Kirk on this. The rewards need tweaked a bit. The production boost should not be used on a planet with a Klorvis Conduit effect. 30% plus another 40%... That's BIG. The anti-Genetarr thing.. Rubbish. The warp pylon as he said should be from a mongo sized boss NPC. Same with the ship mod. At least then they'd be gotten in sufficient numbers and at a lower expense to make the extras worthwhile scrapping for CTP.

Going with these comments, how about the mission stays the same with energy/artefact needs (change the description), but without the fight at the end, and you get the "Temporal Window" as a reward, same rules as with the original plus stopping it being used alongside a Klorvis Conduit.

However the suggested "RSL Research Station" could be a boss for 3, maybe 4 players, available to see around rank 400 (?) with the same stats (suggests tweaks to go with the number of slots on it). Prizes would be chance for either the Warp Null Pylon or the Kinetic Transference Station. The Pylon could be the highest % drop rate, and could be scrapped for around 5 - 10 CTP, while the Station could be scrapped for around 30 - 50 CTP (please suggest changes to make it more realistic).

The Psionic Screech Mines would be removed all together.
