because metallic can be turned into a dyson.
Every planet, with the exception of Aphotic and Rift upgrades, has one upgrade for it.

still we can only do that once with the mission. an upgrade for metallics would be nice to my opinion.

I like the idea of having alternatives. What if you had to choose between one upgrade or another? Ie. Terra's get an upgrade to Gaia which focuses on arties, but what if there were Terra upgrades that focused on research or mining as well? Players would then be able to decide how to specialise their planets. And ok, while most planets tend to be geared towards a particular production type, that isn't always the case. I've seen Terra's that are naturally geared towards research.

i like this idea what if gold planets were mainly focused on mining...

Chrome Planets sound better than gold planets

I don't see what help a gold planet would give to the mining quality. Gold isn't any of the minerals used and has no in-game use. If anything you'd just be converting useful metals into barely useful crap. Gold can be useful, but we don't really need that much of it. The only practical use I can think of is gold plating on adapters in electronics and for plating in electron microscopes, and there we'd need an absolutely tiny amount in comparison to the rest of materials used such as construction materials for establishing new planetary colonies.

gold could be useful for the human race only.as it is a valuable mineral in human colonys i think it would be good to have a gold planet open to humans only

if humans get that then i feel that the rest of the races should get "stupid planet" which would be an augment to the sentient planet. makes mining 10x mega rich and eliminates all arti and research prodcution forever. and has passive ability : radiates a stupid enemy ships can attack the planet, but occasionally miss. enemy ships can invade the planet but have a significantly reduced chance of success due to the soldiers forgetting how to shoot their weapons.

i also agree with that guy, gold is almost useless and is outdated. We need an assortment of metals from that metallic planet, not just one. I think i read somewhere that diamonds are also coming into the superconductor market.

Diamonds? O__o Really? I imagine diamonds would make good (But bloody expensive) insulators for superconductors but we already have significantly cheaper stuff for that.

Diamond is made of carbon and so is graphite. Graphite conducts electricity; do you mean graphite?
