 On-planet mini-games

I suppose mini-games can be called meta-games because they are games within games.

We get to visit a planet, and play a mini-game specific to that planet's type (and possibly size, and perhaps the artifacts built on said planet.)

For example, if a Volcanic planet: Race against the clock to tow a massive plug to the top of the volcano in time to plug it up before it erupts lava and destroys a city. (If it does, a building gets destroyed or parts of your population is reduced.) But if you plug a volcano in time, you get some kind of reward.

Now let's see you submit more mini-game ideas. Fire away!

The plug-the-volcano idea is absolutely horrible. How's this idea?

An akulan entity has entered orbit around (planet name). Disable it, or it will continue to reduce production by 60%!

I don't know what's so horrible about plugging a volcano; it's a noble cause.

Now on Terra, Oceanic and other planets with large bodies of water, a mini-game could be "Evaporate the Tsunami." There, you shoot weapons at large approaching waves in order to neutralize the waves before they hit settlements at shore and wreak havoc. Your ship can really prevent another Tohoku or Boxing Day '04 from happening.

Or... instead of wasting time on stupid mini games, Dan could take his time to make new content that actually matters and fix the things that are broken and have been for a long time.

Seriously, I know it's the 'suggestions' forum, but at least try to make suggestions that are worthwhile.

What are the most brokenest things in the game you know of? Is there a thread that keeps a list of them somewhere?

Yes, I used a nonexistent conjugate of "broken" on purpose.

If Dan doesn't have enough time to program new mini-games, crowdsourcing us to give him code for new content would help, big-time. His team of deverators (devs + moderators) would vet the code and let through the best ones.
