Post subject:  Legion Fleets, Roles & Technologies

Was playing some game that similar ideas, just some very rough ideas :

Legion Fleets, fleet of ships owned by legion as a whole, to unlock certain ships in fleet, there are legion technologies, each branch focus on different types of ships.

Fleets are divided into two categories Military and Civilian :

- Civilian ones are used to produce Minerals, Materials and Research. The stuff produced from civilian ships are used exclusively for fleet construction. Players can donate research, artifacts and money to help build up fleets.

- Military ones are used to military purposes, attack bases or planets or something, i can't really say for sure because i'm afraid it would disrupt the balance of the game too much. ( i think this is a big problem )

Fleets are destroyed - not disabled.

Players can act as flagships in fleets.

Fleets can be named :mrgreen: :

Acturus Fleet
Meridian Fleet etc

New Roles in Legions :

Legion Executor - Leader of whole legion - Controls Legion resources
Fleet Admirals - Commands a Fleet
Chief Scientist - In charge of legion research budget
Lead Engineer - In charge of fleet & base repair and maintenance
Base Tactician - In charge of base activities and base combat
Base Helmsmen - In charge of Base defence
Diplomat - In charge of Diplomacies
Arbiter - Can kick other members, kinda like a senior member
Member - Member


Players can be multiple roles
Level 4+ base to start producing a fleet.
Special base modules could be added to support fleet.

I hope i can build something from here by brainstorming :

+1 Sounds like a nice idea, though something like this could easily become OP, unless it was limited to certain numbers of ships, with a certain cap to its stats. Would probably be a pain for Dan to code as well.

I feel like this would practically be making a different game. It's too far off from what GL is in my opinion.

some parts of it would be interesting to implemant though. like the part about more legion positions has been suggested several times and has gotten pretty good feedback.

Yes the programming would be a pain! and designing the graphics too.. but so many top guys want new stuff. About 8 months, Legion bases was the big thing, now maybe legion fleets?

I was thinking that fleets are used to conquer "Star Fields" each field grants the legion a passive bonus or special abillity that can be activated from the base. Star fields range from different qualities and generate "White Badges", the longer you hold a starfield the fast it produces white badges ( but it hits a peak at some point ), white badges would be used to purchase items that are related to Legion Fleets. Each legion can hold only a maximum amount of star fields and for everday that passes, the legions grip on star fields weaken. There are very limited amounts of star fields available.

Eg - ( just throwing some around with no consideration to balance atm ):

Vorigar Expanse :
+ 50% Cloaking on all Legion Ships

Galactic Fringes :
Base Abillity : Spawns 1 "Rare" NPC on everyones battle tab residing with the legion

Metropolis Sector

Base Abillity : Ship Repairs are free

Temporate Regions :

Adjust chance to scan Terras and Oceans

War Space :

+ 10% PVP and NPC Attack on all ships on all legion members ( No Planet Attack or Invasion Bonus )

Debris Field :

+ 30 % artifact production on bases

Asteroid Field :

+ 100% Mining Production on bases

Comet Field :

-10% Defence on all legion members

I like the idea, I mean there are a lot of things that Dan would have to work on, experiment with and code, but he needs something big and I think this could be it.
