Post subject:  Making Hives, Megacomplexes, Hypergrids more fun to kill

At high ranks when you've accumulated all the modules from the bosses such as hives, mega-complexes and hypergrids, we rarely hit them anymore.

To make them more appealing to kill, upon killing/soloing the boss without alerting it, you get 10x the xp award and 10x of drops

eg- You kill a Megacomplex by yourself :

You get 3000xp upon disable as well as 10x the awards, some dark complex thrusters (extra ctp), some pylon shifters, maybe one or two smugglers cache.

Reason being, if you lock on the boss, you get 1x reward and xp, if you invest 10x the energy into the boss, shouldn't you get 10x the stuff?

This "passive" abillity is unlocked when completing this medal, the abillity doesn't apply for elites :

I am going to say no, just because this makes the game more individual heavy. the point of these NPCs is to share.

Okay, i understand :) , it's just that i seen many bosses such as stalars, matrixes and hives that noone bothers bothers hitting, or if they die, only 4 people have bothered locking while one does 6x the damage lock to kill it.

sounds like an internal issue not a galaxy problem.

whilst the game is SUPPOSED to encourage team play, the medal is demanding that you do the exact opposite. and its no small task to drop 10 man elites either. im not looking forward to spending 5K energy just to drop ONE elite... i know i dont HAVE to get the medal points, but the medal is there and thats what its asking me to do... so im compelled to do it.

one nice thing about slow leveling :) the easier to kill 10 mans hang around longer

yeah... so i gotta freeze rank now and JUST kill DMCs... im 599 and 2K away from ranking and never seeing them again.

as to the OP, i would say you should only get a loot drop of 5X, and not for the full 10 spots, or just make it a guaranteed 4 thrusters& engines, 2 caches.. wouldnt want anyone getting TOO well paid for all that hard work lol

but im sure that 25k / hr rate is pretty nice to have :) ill get there some day when im done hanging around with the lowbies.

for soloing that many bosses (especially if you can only see things like the warp station) the medal should give some form of weapon that gives a % attack boost against NPCs, or maybe some passive ability to stop any effects it has (similar to the Genetarr Improved influence)

What are you guys smoking? Hypergrids... Last decent source of ctp from elite/boss NPCs, more people should hit them. Dark Megas... If you solo one of those (or any boss that drops a cache) you should get kicked. Period. Hives... Yeah, crappy drops but geezus are they easy to kill. They just need something better than Vesicles as a primary drop to get people to hit them.

thats why i like it down here I can still find : Renegars, AI matrixes, and Stalar's, nothing super special about those. Sure the Renegar drops the lazuli parts bault but thats basically a ship bot, bracket and 2 xcharge cells... woohoo.

We really don't need extra reward, I mean it would make doing the medal actually worth it, thus taking out the challenge and the whole point of it. That and as someone else pointed out, bosses are for sharing, makes no sense to get a bigger reward for killing them.
