Seriously,
This is the only thing I don't like in a Galaxy of awesomeness. Something has to be done. Its just that 10,000 artifact points for garbage is horrible. Think I have gotten four of these now. The first three were pretty much just a group of pitted rocks floating around. Really, I think they were all small and at best were only abundant in something. The last one at least had rich artifact and an average size. I would have found those with a scan and saved the points. Ill probably waste a star charts purger just to get rid of them.
Im not asking you to make them find better planets. We can all do that on our own. Just either reduce their cost or allow me to pass on it. Every single other artifact i can find a use for. Even the silly probes i will play with but that star chart needs some fixing.

out of 5-6 i got one REALLY GOOD planet. the rest were just average crappy rocks. based on the good one i got, its hard to complain. my last one i got from the star charts was an average abundant mine with the other 2 slots sparse.

I like chart as is because it always discover UNCOLONIZED planets and it still WORKS even beyond your scan ability.. For normal scan blitz that can cost lot of energy just to find one planet and it sometimes is occupied.. I think chart is good as is..

they are well worth the price. i got a very decent exotic from one. also a very massive metallic ex rich in research etc. they make up for all the barren average prod rocks that i get.

I have maxed my scan tech, I have scanned as far as I could with one of the biggest scan power ever so now I'm screwed if I want to scan again. So trust me, I loooooove star charts!!!! They are one of the rare last chance for me to discover something cool.

Though I already have a long term plan of purging all the planets I do not want/care about. But I need to get to level 115 first and even then it will take some time lol.

I like them too.. even at 10k research points. I hate having to reconfigure just to scan. Every time I do, I get whacked.. heh. And I've had reasonable luck with them. No big terra's, but I've managed to get a couple of planets worth colonizing. Its not like we can qualify for a new planet every day.

The chart is fine as is.... I have used probably 20 so far and maybe found 4 terrans and one small exotic rest were rocks of crap but it is not supposed to find a good planet. It is only supposed to find one that is not inhabited. When it cost over1 bil to set up scanners to do a massive scan haul of the system the artifact is so much more worth it, with the artifact you can be maxed out on scan and still look for some planets.
i saved my charts last time and did 7 at once went on a chart blits lol when i found the baby exotic.

What started as a petition to change the artifact became a testament for its value.
Im saving all my star charts I have 8 currently in my cargo hold I figured once I max out my scan I would use them. Good or bad they will be a good source of uncolonized planets...
