And so what if someone bids a proxy-max of 1 trillion credits on a coveted item, and someone out-bids them with 1.1T? Let them learn their lesson! Rather quickly, that would discipline rich players not to set their max bets so high! Ebay does their thing with proxy bidding so well. Their users got the self-discipline to keep their max bets under control, and so can we. =) - Asheron |

If they pay too much it's their own fault. |

I guess since this is the Suggestions and Ideas forum that there's a suggestion in there, but damned if I can find it... |

The suggestion, which Darth is having so much trouble finding (glasses, perhaps?), isn't a bad one. It'd certainly help with sniping, I guess. +0.5 |

but the diff between here and ebay is people who snipe or proxy bid on ebay can back out of the purchase, although it looks really bad on your part... here the money is deducted upfront when u make your bid so if u waste a T on some acfs or pyraminds and didnt really want them or want to pay that much its too late |

Then maybe they should have paid attention to the amount. It isn't hard to look at a price and say "That's too expensive I think I'll go find another." |

Rebel4561 wrote: Two things: One: this isn't ebay Two: why does just about every one of your suggestions compare galaxy legion to something else? Devil's advocate (did I just call Asheron the devil? Never!) - One, eBay does online bidding better than the GTC, and two, critical comparison is important if you want to improve something. Standing on the shoulders of giants (or previous digital merchants) and whatnot. An aside, I really think the two most important problems in the GTC are that not all tradeable items are able to be sold in the GTC (glances over at the planet flux and storage artis), and two, the amounts of a single type of artifact are capped way too low. |

ICBLF wrote: the amounts of a single type of artifact are capped way too low. This. If i want to quick sell some "junk" i should be able to throw em up dirt cheap. May lead to massive amounts of product dumping but thats a risk im willing to take to get rid of the artificial market floor. |

ICBLF wrote: the amounts of a single type of artifact are capped way too low. EM should have a cap closer to 100k. It's not even worth trying to buy EM in the GTC because it would waste a massive amount of time to get any amount of EM at only 1000 at a time. As far as proxybidding goes, i'm sure Dan could cancel a sale and refund credits if he wanted to, but that would be a massive waste of his time. I agree with Xzien on this one, if they overpay, it's thier own fault. |
