Post subject:  Design Your Own Ship
A new addition to the game where you can design your own ship and make it look the way you want!!!

It will open to players after doing a mission chain so that old ship designs don't go out of existence

Ideas about how it would be done:

Buying parts in a New Shop
Building parts with ctp and other materials
Killing NPCs that give out parts
Missions that give you blueprints to ship designs or parts
Or a new research branch for ship parts

I think this would make the game more interesting, seeing all the different designs that would be out there will be great

The idea is good so I give it a +1
But, the coding for it would probably take a bit to do and there are other areas of concern before worrying about aesthetics, maybe down the road.

Seriously though, it's a great idea. I've always wanted to properly upgrade my ship. However, as Xzien mentioned, there are other things to consider when upgrading first but this gets a +1 from me as well.

I do like it but . I would rather have new game stuff npc, a battle arena some thing like that.

This would add new npcs and it would be great to have with a battle arena, seeing your customized ship battling out.
I know its a long term idea but it would be great if i can at least see the future gen of GL players be able to enjoy my idea.

I'd like to see a few achievements, where you are required to kill a certain amount of each NPC. After killing a set amount, you unlock that NPC as your ship design. I think I'd go for the Sha'din Hyperport. :P

This could mean new designs, AND new NPC's.

Cripes... Another ship design thread? FFS... If I have to wait for more true content just for this sort of thing AGAIN... I couldn't give a crap less what my ship looks like, so these new NPCs and missions you're suggesting don't interest me in the least. I think you'll find a great many people that actually play the game to feel the same way.
