In light of the sad news that we've all just learned of our fellow player's passing, I believe that since the title feature was put in place, that a special title be put on our members who have moved on to better places. This is not a suggested game feature which can be attained by everyone, something simply as a sign of respect for those we don't wish to forget. I myself don't know him personally, but I can say I know how it feels to lose a dear friend, and my heart goes out to his friends and family. |

Ok, so if this would be done ild say that i died and get a medal and keep playing.. edit seriously what is wrong with some of you people this is the damn suggestion forum if someone says "i could do this and that" ITS AN EXAMPLE seriously -.- And yes its sad that he died , he was a nice guy but that doesnt mean his death was worse than any of the other 1000 people that die daily |

Its a nice gesture, but there are likely hundreds of previous players of this game who have gone inactive or left the game due to ill health leading to death, and there is really no way to confirm that fact, short of, as you stated Xzien, an actual confirmation of this person passing via FB or a post to these forums by a family member, which lets face it is extremely unlikely. The only reason we knew of RandyManning's passing, is because his family knew of his enjoyment of this game and the time he spent talking to the people who play, and so his wife left a rather personal message on fb detailing as such. On the flip-side there are likely a great many who played this game, who have passed away since its inception, be it through natural causes or otherwise, to assume otherwise would be naive at best. Should they be denied such an honorary title, just because their family choose either to keep that persons death within the family, or because their family knew nothing of said person playing this game. So from saying all that, such a title would only work if every ship whose account owner went inactive for 3 months got said title, which would be immediately revoked if they returned to the game. At the same time, such an idea is pretty much redundant, because you wouldn't be able to see this persons ship anymore, so you couldn't see the title anyway. So i have to give the idea a -1, because whilst its a nice gesture, its inherently difficult to implement and kinda useless given you'll never see it anyway. |

Making a Legion for our fallen plays Is a nice idea that I will support. He was one of the longest playing and Best players in GL kind and respectful to others. It is sad to lose people, honoring there memory With a legion just for people who have pasted away to be sent to with a base that cant be locked keeping there ship off the BT would be a nice and grate idea. Any thing beyond that is not a good idea. The game is over 2 years old, I can't name any but Randy was not the first to leave us, sadly he will not be the last. New medals minerals artys NPC all that stuff for every one we lose will be to much for Dan to have to deal with. How ever I think ways to honor Randy and other honorable people who leave us like this. some people are naming planets after him, others have posted RIP in there legion Announcements. There many thing we can do to honor his memory. Other then creating a legion for people who have passed away I don't think Dan should do more and go beyond that. All so I think Failname was trying to point out how eassaly this could get abused. not trying to fight , argue or any thing like that. Jwagg PLz calm down, there's no need to attack him. |
