Basically a Legion can choose to be passive via a addition of a button on the Legion tab.

All this does is removes players from the battle tab

You must be loyal for this effect to take place

The Alert system is still in effect, ex: you cant go attack 100 ppl a hour before your loyal and expect to be safe, if you are alerted or on someones news feed you can still be attacked. Same with planets.

-1. Can I go more than -1? No? Ok. -1.

If this was allowed, all the weak ships would go join passive legions, and all the strong ships would join non-passive (aggressive?) legions. What's the point of the game if not to make your ship stronger? This game is a pvp game. You can already put a ton of cloak on your ship to hide, why make it even easier for people to be weak?

Agreed. You need incentive to grow stronger and nothing motivates being shot out of the stars by a ship way out of your class!

When I think of a pacifist race in space and other races that like to kill and take.. extermination is always the result.

yes, and why dont they make Halo so that the enemy doesnt ever shoot back, or make race car games where you are the only car on the track so you always come in 1st place. Maybe pack man should have never had ghosts, or asteroids should have never had asteroids, and of coarse Space Invaders would have been MUCH more Fun with NO Space Invaders wouldnt it have.

without the battle side of this game it is NOTHING, STOP TRYING TO MAKE THIS A PASSIVE, WUSSY GAME BECAUSE IT IS NOT.

I hear the worst that can happen to you in Farmville is not getting back in time before your crops die, maybe you should go there and play...Oh wait, you will probably cry because your crops died..gee I guess there is NO game without consequence or danger, maybe that is what makes them challenging and fun.

I agree with the first bit, Hawke is actually a leader to a very aggressive legion, so needless to say i was surprised when i saw it was him that suggested it.

Hawke just happened to be the one that posted this thread, My words were not just for him, but everyone who thinks that their ships or their legion should be immune from the BT.

The BT is a huge part of the game and no one should be able to go without showing up on it from time to time. Hopefully suggestions such as this one continue to go unanswered.

I agree with Oexa, you can cloak your ship and hide from A LOT of people.
But then there's those who run tons of scan saying, "I don't know where your ship is. But I will scan you, and when I do, I will disable you."

Ok we all know there are some players who dont partake in pvp or do planet invades and ride a halc 24/7 what point is having them on your bt?

Expanding from this idea maybe passive legions you do not appear on the BT but you cannot invade planets or target players from the bt

And maybe an aggresive legion option where things like invade timer is 12 hours etc etc but you cannot use a halc while your in that legion.

Post subject:  Re: Passive Legion Option

The only way I can see this working would be to have 3 types of legions:

Passive - 80% lower chance of showing up on the BT. -30% Attack and Defense, -20% to base production. Can not use offensive artifacts.

Normal - Standard chance of showing up on BT. - No buff/debuff

Aggressive - 50% higher chance of showing up on the BT - +10% Attack and Defense, +20% to base production. Can not use halcs or traps.

A legion would have to choose when it is created (or for existing legions, as soon as this is implemented into the game), and can not be changed.

personally i think the legion in question should be allowed to change its style if it chooses to. i do agree that this would be a good way to use the passive legion idea maybe lower the 80% to a 70% or a 60% and not have the legion play style affect the base production. overall i like the idea from Oexarity +1

Post subject:  Re: Passive Legion Option

I think it should reduce the base output, because you're highly reducing the risk involved in the game and therefore the gain should be proportionately decreased. As for the aggressive legions, the opposite applies. High risk, high gain.

Post subject:  Re: Passive Legion Option

being in an aggressive legion doesn't really gain you that much though base payout for most of us is around the 1 hour mark or less mark 20% on that isn't worth the 80% chance of being on the BT

And i presume the attack/defense is to the base the 10% attack and defense really isn't that much

Most people would just stick to the normal legion because the rewards for the aggressive aren't worthwhile enough.

those people popping halcs 24/7, arent onling every two hours to reset those traps, they will get disables eventually, THATS why they show up on the bt. is it likely to happen often, no not really, but its still a possibility.

Imagine all those passive multi-filled legions.

Post subject:  Re: Passive Legion Option

The reason why i made this suggestion is so that halc'd passive players will stop popping up on my BT, i would like them out of my way so i can waste my nulls on a player who actually pvps, because i really get tired of hitting a omi, KVT...use null...hit halc..sob. Know what i mean? I know this would still happen from time to time, but passive legions would reduce it a little bit. and maybe add in that you have to ask dan to make your legion passive and then he does a little scan sweep on it if its good then its yes if not bann hammer. and then periodicaly and randomly he scans the passive legions for multis.

I do agree with you there are some players who dont pvp and never will if there not interested in the pvp side of the game why have them clutter the pvp section let them remove themselves from that side of the game no pvp no planet invasions like a permanent halc if thats how they want to play that's there choice but it ruins pvp for those who do choose to partake in it so why not let these guys opt out? they dont want to be hit anymore than we want to hit a krio and a halc so doesn't this help both parties?

Halcs were made for a reason, so people who don't want to PvP don't get disabled too frequently. By the original suggestion, people who do not want to PvP would not show up on anyone's BT is kind of counter-progressive. I don't mind hitting a halc, I just go disable someone else. I don't see why anyone, who is in favor of this, is getting pissed at hitting a halc... it's part of the game and doesn't have a major impact, so deal with it.

Right but until Recently Halcs were the most abused trap besides the Omicron Net. it would be better to just remove halcs keep calming amps and set passive legions.

and how do these passive players reclaim their planets.. do they just lose them and thats it..
do they get to switch out of being passive.. thats hardly fair to anyone whos had to PVP their whole career
