dug into the wallet today to celebrate my 1-year anniversary last week. first order of business was to purge my 3 most deadweight planets, and replace them with arti planets that i just scanned yesterday.
now, it was dead easy to decide which planets to purge - 2 volcanics and a barren. i would have purged my worst gas planet as well, but it acquired a stealth screen a few weeks back and i want to see if i can put that to use somehow.
so, reviewing my list of planets, i find that i only have 2 barrens, 2 volcanics, and 4 gas planets left out of 39 occupied. 1 gas is intended for plasma status, 1 volcanic will become a demon, and the rest are just straight up production until i find 'nicer' planets to replace them.
to try to make my future abandonment decisions a bit more taxing, my suggestion is for 3 planet buildings that give a 1% production boost (to all resources) and another 1% for every 15 of one kind of common planet (volcanic, gas, barren). you can have 1 of each on a planet, and the bonus scales up, so if you have 30 gas planets, that building would give you a 3% production boost. if one of your 15 gas planets gets uplifted to become a plasma, your existing buildings would all still give the basic 1% production boost, but you can not build any more until you get back over 15.
not sure if this should be a GP item, or a mission drop where the mission unlocks once a player owns 15 of that given planet type.
EDITED SUGGESTION:
mission drop: 12 available mission requirement: 12 planets of one type, rank 170/220 (which would be better ?)
option 1: artifact: size 1, production +1%, additional +1% for every 12 planets of type artifact is installed upon - all bonuses triple if built on a common planet (gas, volcanic, barren)
option 2: artifact: size 1, production +1% for every planet type where you have more than 12 of them - bonus doubles if built on a common planet (gas, volcanic, barren)
if planet type gets changed, production bonus changes to reflect new planet type.

not even enough of a boost if you included it for other planet types either.. 157 out of my possible 164 slots are filled at rank 659.

I would like that as a mission drop. 5~10 . I have . 5 Vigour 1 barren 16 Crystal 7 demon 9 Desert 2 dysion 5 Ecumenopolis 12 exotic 12 Gaia 39 icey 17 Irradiated 11 Metallic 72 Oceanic 20 Plasma 4 Sentient 77 terras 59 toxis
at lower ranks the arty will not be to strong , but when you rank up a bit and have more planets it can be a fun thing to use. in time it will become very good arty. i have like 130 free planet slots that will probly become 30 toxics and then the rest artys. provided that this arty works for all planet typers so if u us it on a terra its boosted for all owned terras. Im fine with 1% per 10~15 ownd types.

hmm, and the other option is to have a 1% boost for every planet type where you have more than 12 of them.
you would get 3% bonus if you have 12 or more of all 3 common planet types (barren, volcanic, gas)
plus, an additional 1% bonus if you have 12 icy, etc.
so max possible would be 20% for 240 planets: 12 barren, volcanic, gas (common) 12 desert, icy, toxic (uncommon) 12 metallic, oceanic, terra, aphotic, ecumenopolis, crystal, irradiated, demon, plasma (rare) 12 exotic, gaia, sentient (ext. rare) 12 dyson, rift (mythical)
this would mean that you couldn't just stock up on 120 icy's to get 10% ... you would have to get 10 different kinds of planets over 12 to get 10%. the numbers could get re-jigged in this scenario if it is too underpowered ...

Let the double stay. Common planets suck. It will only help out lower ranks on that. maybe.. Let it be extractable.
